Ok, here's this year's edition of the opponent's schedules to see how they do in the rest of their games before and after us. Who has the bye's that will give them an extra week of practice and who has the soft or insane out of conference schedule.
I am unable to post tables here on the forum, so I screencap my excel table. If you'd like a copy of the excel sheet, shoot me a pm and I can email it to you.
Lemme know if you see any errors. I did this rather quickly and didn't have a chance to proofread. (wyokie, c'mon, I know you'll find something...)
Also just created this printable 8.5" x 11" image to put at your desk at work or at home. (not saying you should print this out on your work color printer... but... if no one's looking.... heh )

Alright Warriors!!!
Good way to start the season! Never thought we'd rush more than CU and CU would pass more than us, but a win is a win. I feel that the O-Line will work on giving Moniz more time, to get his WR's more into the action. We do only have a week to prepare for UW though.
Here's my recap of how our opponents did this week.
UW - took a late INT in their own endzone to prevent in-state smaller school Eastern Washington from the big upset in Seattle. Remember Bo Levi Mitchell? our former recruit? he's at EW now. he threw for 473 yards against the huskies. hope that's a good sign for us. not good though as UW had a lot of time to prepare their pass D. just hope they don't improve in a week and we do. hope our guys are ready for that loud stadium.
UNLV - nothing new here. Wiscy did what they wanted with them. unlv made the score a little more respectable with two late meaningless scores.
UC Davis - Arizona st also dominated the aggies doing what they wanted in their season opener. hope aloha stadium isn't welcome to them either when they come later in the month.
La Tech - almost pulled out the win in Hattiesburg but a late FG put the golden eagles ahead. our road trips there are never fun.
SJSU - Andrew Luck started his heisman run with a blowout win as the Cardinal pounded their neighbor school.
NMSU - loses to the lesser of the Ohio schools at home. former Leilehua star Andrew Manley threw for 362 yards of their 368 total yards in the loss.
Idaho - looked like a team with a new qb in their loss hosting the falcons at the kibbie dome/hanger.
Utah St - the surprise of the day. Almost pulling out the upset of the weekend before falling late to the tigers. maybe its a good thing we're hosting them this year.
Nevada - gets a bye while watching their next opponent, Oregon, lose to LSU in texas. Will UO recover by next week or be down after their highly touted game loss.
Fresno - Derek Carr (younger bro of David) couldn't stop the golden bears at candlestick
Tulane - looked good in their high scoring win.
BYU - barely squeaked out the win over Ole Miss. Both teams struggled mightily on offense and relied on defense to score the go ahead TD on a sack/fumble.
WAC had a tough week. I think it's too bad we never got the chance to see if BSU, Fresno and Nevada would have come back to the WAC if BYU rejoined. Maybe the WAC has had the stigma of being second rate for so long that it's better UH moves on to a fresh start. The MW bulletin boards sure are interesting.
week 2
not the outcome we hoped for. UW jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead as they surprised our defense. thanks to a 99 interception return for TD by Richard Torres and Sterling Jackson's first TD, the Warriors cut it to 28-14 at the half. We outscored UW 18-12 in the second half but came up short. We also had 2 blocked PATs which will definitely be worked on with Coach Tomey.
Maybe its a good thing we have UNLV and UC Davis the next two weeks to hopefully work on things before the conference schedule starts.
Here's how the rest of our opponents did this weekend.
- CU came back with a fire this week against fellow PAC-12 opponent Cal, and Buffaloes QB Hansen threw for 474 yards and 3 TDs in the loss to the Bears in OT. Glad he didn't realize he could throw last week.
- UNLV continues to struggle going 0-2. Their only score was a late 95 yard kickoff return late in the 4th. Hopefully they don't pull a CU and play amazing in their first home game.
- UC Davis is also winless, losing to fellow div-1aa Montana state. They get to host the Toreros of San Diego next week before flying here.
- La Tech also goes to OT to beat the Central Arkansas Bears. Not looking forward to our last road trip to Ruston.
- San Jose St loses another to a Cal school in UCLA but kept this one much closer.
- New Mexico St pulls off the biggest WAC upset of the week, going into the Golden Gopher's home field and pulls out the win. Prayers go out to Minnesota's Coach Kill who collapsed with a seizure toward the end of the game. Former Mule Manley threw for 3 TDs.
- Utah St takes out last week's close loss against in state "rival" Weber St. They have a rough next 2 games however, hosting the Rams of Colorado St before heading to big brother BYU.
- Nevada wishes they could have another year with Kapernick as they go down hard at Oregon. The Ducks were out to prove that last week against LSU was an off week. I'm sure the score could've been much worse than the 69-20 drubbing.
- Fresno St had the lead for a majority of the game at Nebraska before falling to the Cornhuskers. Good thing we host them.
- Tulane also gets whalopped by conference foe Tulsa. Hope this is a good sign for us.
- And BYU struggles to score again in losing at Texas, this time only racking up 16.
what a rough road trip. lose one to the huskies and then to unlv.
what was supposed to be a 20 point spread in favor of UH was reversed to a 20 point deficit. nothing went right until the last drive when david graves came in to throw a late td.
fumbles, incompletes, penalties.
hope all is fixed by the time the UC Davis Aggies roll into town this Saturday. Hope fans also show up, as its early in the season and our Warriors need your support.
- Colorado - wins in their big in-state rivalry game of the year over the Rams. up next a huge game at Ohio State before they start their inaugural year in the PAC-12.
- Washington - headed to Cornhusker land and kept a good fight up before falling.
- UC Davis - gets on the winning side of things walloping the Toreros of San Diego
- La Tech - loses a close one at home to the Houston Cougars. they have a tough one too at Miss St next weekend.
- San Jose gives Nevada their first win of the year.
- NMSU loses to state neighbor with the airport, UTEP.
- Idaho gets whacked gaining a paycheck at the Aggies of Texas A&M
- Fresno gets their first win of the year beating out Div-1aa North Dakota. They start their wac season at the Kibbie dome next week.]
- Tulane goes crazy on the UAB dragons, scoring 49.
- BYU loses bad to in state rival Utah.
Finally! that's the offense we're used to seeing. Sure it was against a div 1-aa school, but just to get the guys flowing and in synch again was nice to see. the true test is next weekend when we have to make our last road trip to Ruston. La Tech put up a good fight against at Miss St, before losing in OT. they start a 17 yo true freshman at qb. he's had to face a lot of tough so far, but hopefully our D gives him a lot of face to face on sat. and hope our O continues those crazy numbers.
hope the 30,756 fans that did show up to support the team got their fill, as we won't see our warriors for a month when they play again at home on Oct 22.
anyways, here's a short recap of the rest of our opponents.
- CU - after beating their in state rival last week, the Buffs had a rough time at the buckeyes. they start their pac-12 schedule next week against the cougs of wazzu.
- UW - big win for the huskies taking down the bears in Seattle. things might be back to glory there as they're looking much better than their recent seasons. they found a good replacement for Locker. they get to welcome in new conference member Utah next sat.
- UNLV - big letdown for the rebels after they beat us last week. they go down big to div-1aa southern utah thunderbirds. from what i read, it was the turnovers that did them in. (hmmm, sounds like us last week) 3 interceptions returned for tds. they get in state rival nevada next week. we'll see what rebel team shows up.
- La Tech - again, we'll see how they rebound from their OT loss to SEC opponent Miss St. And how we can get their 17yo qb to react to us rather than control the game.
- San Jose - gets their first win of the year against Manley-less NMSU. they scored as many points in this game as they had all in their first 3 games. they have a rough two games next against MWC's CSU and BYU before they host us. hope they get beat up a little before we show up.
- Idaho - fresno said goodbye to the kibbie dome with a convincing win against the Vandals. hope we can do the same when we visit later this year.
- USU - they go down to Colorado state in OT. giving up the game late again like they did to auburn. they go to provo to try to prove it to big instate brother BYU next week. good preview for us later in the year.
- Nevada - looks the best this year so far although not so good in the 2nd half as the Red Raiders come back for a late win. they face a scary boise team next weekend in boies. this could get ugly without kapernick to guide them.
- Tulane - looks ugly in their loss at Duke. not sure what happened to the team that had just beaten up UAB last week. gotta keep an eye on this team to see which is the real team.
- BYU - their special teams helped the cougars come back from an early deficit to the golden knights.
Week 5 - Aloha Ruston
Did the boys answer all the questions out there? Possibly. All 3 phases of the game scored and did their jobs yesterday. 2 interceptions by the D, another for a TD by Richard Torres on a perfect read on an out pattern. Fumble on a kickoff, this time not by us, and returned for a TD by Tank. And another nice game for Moniz and Pollard.
Good week off to have a bye. Focus on school, get healthy and prepare for the rest of the season.
Here's how the rest of opponents did
-Colorado - lose at home to perennial hapless washington st. this might be a LOOONG inaugural PAC-12 season for the Buffs.
- San Jose - looks to be back in gear after going to (not so good) Colorado St (who was the Buff's only win this year) and getting a win. They head to BYU next week which will be another good preview for our team to watch.
- NMSU - doesn't lose a beat in taking out in state rival, UNM. Although UNM winless this year, so hard to tell.
- Idaho - takes a long trip out to Virginia and loses in OT when they fail on a 2pt conversion in OT. Gutsy call but they end up a little short.
- Nevada - Boise St gets revenge on last year's biggest upset by taking out the Wolfpack easily. Boise's Moore wasn't the sharpest, but they were still up 30-10 before Nevada scored late in the 4th.
- Ole Miss takes a long trip West to Fresno and beat the Bulldogs at their own house. Fresno fans must be calling for Pat Hill's job again as his team has a losing record.
- Tulane - gets wiped out at Army. the Green Wave is just a ripple right now.
-BYU/USU - Cougar fans rushing the field for a victory over neighboring Aggies? How things have changed. Down most of the game, the Cougars pull out a late victory. Not sure what to make of BYU yet, as they barely squeak this one out as well as their other wins, but get blown out by Utah, who yesterday got wiped out by visiting Washington. Hope they don't figure things out by the end of the season.
Week 6, well needed to rest and recover.
here's how our foes did this weekend while our boys watched them on tv.
- Colorado is having a rough time in their inaugural year in the PAC-12, this week welcomed by possible #1 draft pick Stanford.
- UW gets a bye this week as well while they await the Buffs next week.
- UNLV looks like the UNLV we had hoped to see, getting shut out in visiting in state rival Nevada. Nevada wanted to make up for their poor showing against Boise last week.
- UC Davis is also having a rough year so far, losing at home to Humboldt state.
- La Tech goes up to Moscow to get in the win column in the WAC.
- San Jose comes back down to earth losing at Provo
- Utah St roughs up Wyokie's Pokes to finally finish a game strong
- Fresno looks like they didn't wake up on Friday as Kellen Moore blasts them in Fresno. He didn't even play in the 2nd half.
- Tulane loses to Syracuse on a last second field goal.
painful loss. everything went wrong in the first half. things looked bleak, and then the tides turned onto san jose and they couldn't hold onto the ball. things looked better, until special teams could not do their part and kick a pat and fg that would've secured the game. momentum shifted and that was it. up to the players and coaches to fix what has been a continuous problem all year. should we never go for a FG again? just go for it? they gotta turn it around quick. new mexico state is coming in with a decent offense. we can't turn the ball over this many times every week and hope to win. there's a slim chance we can still win the wac, if we win out, as san jose already has a loss. fresno and nevada are undefeated, and fresno comes here, but we gotta head to reno.
anyways, here's the rest of the results: (our overall opponent's record is horrible at 33-50, with only 2 of our opponents with winning records, but we can't speak much as it is anyways)
- Colorado vs Washington - Colorado might be on its way to a one win season as it continues to struggle in the pac-12. Colorado gets to host the Ducks next week, but UO is on a roll. Not sure how the injuries to the Ducks will affect their play, but CU hasn't stopped anyone this year. Washington on the other hand seems to be the surprise of the conference. UW heads to Palo Alto next week however and will get tested big time by the Cardinal's Luck.
- UNLV - headed to the bottom of the MWC conference with a bad loss to wyokie's Cowpokes. The loss to the rebels looks really bad for us (as long as this week's one)
- UC Davis finds its winning ways in beating future WAC member Texas- San Antonio. Its a good thing we're getting out of the WAC.
- Idaho loses its 5th in a row, but get a bye this week to prepare for us. Great. Thats just what we need. We haven't played well on the road, and we get to go up to Moscow in 2 weeks. We really need to get the momentum back with a win this weekend against the Aggies to face the Vandals full steam ahead or we could get shocked again.
- Utah State vs Fresno - Fresno is the WAC leader with a 2-0 record after handing the Aggies their first conference loss. So much for their win over wyokie's cowboys last week.
- Nevada thrashes UNM in a preview for next year's MWC entry. should be an interesting game when UNLV plays UNM later this year. They host Fresno next week which could determine the WAC champion.
- Tulane continues to struggle in the C-USA, losing their 4th in a row. Hope they continue to get beat up and head here for vacation to end their season
- BYU wins its 4th in a row, chopping down the Beavers of OSU. they should get a break with Idaho St next week before facing TCU the week after.
Good luck Warriors this week with practice. I know they keep saying "One Snap, Clear" but this one will be hard to shake. Bounce back this weekend against NMSU and see you guys at the stadium!
