Championship Day: Mom and Dad with John after winning the Central California Division I Football Championship over Nevada Union at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
Graduation Day: John and Willie Tuitama (University of Arizona starting QB).
A 2005 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Stockton, Calif... a two-year starter at center...named the league's Lineman of the Year, first- team all-section (San Joaquin), first-team all-Northern California, and third-team all-state as a senior...also named Lineman of the Year by the Stockton Hall of Fame...a two-time all-area selection by the Stockton Record...also won the San Joaquin Athletic Association and San Joaquin Sub Section discus championship as a junior, and finished sixth statewide...football coach was Tony Franks. Turned down offers from Boise State, San Jose State and Utah State

Mom (Corleen), Brother (Patrick), GrandFather (John “Jack” ), Brother (Christopher), and Father (Ronald) on LOI Day at St. Mary’s High School Feb. 2005.
Born March 25, 1987. Son of Corleen and Ronald Estes of Stockton, California
- Has two brothers, Christopher and Patrick (former Nevada Wolfpack Defensive Tackle (1997-2002))
Fun Facts:
- He is not related to UH Recruit Kenny Estes (he get’s asked this a lot)
- He was named after his paternal grandfather, John “Jack” Estes, and his maternal great-grandfather John Freitas
- John Freitas is the father of former Detroit Lion Offensive Tackle and former UH Assistant AD, Rockne Freitas. Dick Tomey was the HC at UH at this time.
- Cousin Makoa Freitas played Offensive Tackle for Dick Tomey’s Arizona Wildcats and the Indianapolis Colts
- Cousin Makai Freitas played Offensive Tackle for Dick Tomey’s Arizona Wildcats and the Oakland Raiders
- Cousin (Former Warrior) Kahai LaCount played Offensive Guard but has since moved to the Defensive End
- Cousin Kainoa LaCount is an Offensive Tackle transfer from Orange Coast Community College
- His maternal GrandFather (Pat Hiram) and GrandFather’s brother (Roy Hiram) played at Kamehameha and San Jose State in the 50’s
- His High School team was very talented. Five (including John) are playing DI football.

John is one of the top Centers in the country. It would be awesome if he got invited to the college football awards show and won the Rimington award.

This guy is tough as nails. I've watched him stonewall some blitzing LBs.

June jones said he might be the best o-lineman hes ever had.
of course JJ said that timmy chang was the best QB and stuff like that...but i think Estes really will be one of the best to play at Hawaii by the time hes done here.
The Miami Dolphins fans are raving about how good Samson Satele is and that Hawaii produces a lot of good o-linemen...Estes is gonna be proof of that (knock on wood)

Impressive. Hope he comes back for his senior year. Will have an opportunity to play on Sundays.

By far the best Center in the WAC. He should be a finalist for the best center award, IMO.
