Here is real information about the pandemic...not the propaganda promulgated by Trump and the Republicans.

At a time when people are depressed because they have to stay at home, there are some people that inspire us and make us feel good that there is hope for the future.

I wonder if Trump would have been brazen enough if elected to a second term to give priority for the vaccine to his friends and family. And, maybe even selling the vaccine to profit from it to the wealthy in the US with some excuse they were high risk. This is Monopoly baby, go to jail do not collect $200.

Why politics should have been taken out of the pandemic.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/publi ... d=msedgdhp
Trump made it political. He downplayed the pandemic to reopen the economy without the proper guidelines and he never wore a mask in public.

Trump and right wing media blamed for Covid crisis.

Hopefully this is the end of Fox media news which I absolutely dislike. So, we gave Trump 4 years to make a mess of things although people like George Clooney knew that this man was a "dumb goofball." Too bad a lot of people still listened to Trump.

Even though the pandemic is serious enough, Trump still wants to try to take the country down with his politics.

318k COVID-19 deaths nationwide unaddressed. And he's still fighting to stay in office. And he's not leading the country at all. And what about the Russian hack. Egomaniac narcissistic a-hole.

Though hundreds of new cases were found as recently as Tuesday as the extent of the Mahachai outbreak became known and thousands were tested, they have since tapered off. Though dozens of cases have been found in a growing number of provinces – the outbreak’s reached nearly half of them – today’s new case count was not much more than Thursday’s 67, of which 55 were migrant workers.

“The current situation is still controllable,” Taweesilp said. “Yet if things get worse, we must join hands and prepare for stricter measures, such as a lockdown and curfew like we had in March.”
We have some unofficial (wink, wink) open borders here. It has caused a relapse. I've gotta admit, it has blackened my Christmas somewhat. I know, the number pales compared to many places in the world, but it means that we may go back into lock-down. Luckily, we have FAR fewer pandemic deniers here. I wish you all a happy and safe Christmas.

Trump still holds off on signing bill to assist many in need of pandemic help because of his enormous ego.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics ... d=msedgntp
His request for the GOP to jump at his $2000 doesn't follow any of his agenda. He may just want to take down this country because he doesn't want to vacate the White House.

Meanwhile, its hard to believe that 49% of the US voted for this total idiot.

On January 20, 2021 if Trump refuses to vacate the White House, there should be plenty of people outside with torches and pitchforks to drag him away. Melania and Barron should be safely tucked away at Mar-a-Lago by then.

Maybe Donald has come back to earth. He signed the stimulus bill which averts the shutdown.

Especially in a year where China has done better than the US economy.

I wouldn't be so sure about China's economy. China's economy is hyped. It's a pyramid scheme waiting to fail. Just check all the ghost city and abandoned bicycle videos to pause and say...hmmm. Trump is also all about hype. A Filipino colleague, whose daughter had quit school in America before the shutdown, received a $5k check in Thailand with Trump's name on it. They couldn't afford school in America. He asked me, "What's up with that?" Trump wants to be the "buck stops here" guy. I hated the original Buck Stops Here Guy. These transition presidents suck.

I would like to add that building a wall is stupid. We have things like AEOROPlANES now.

So….you're O.K. with getting a lousy $600 after getting $1,200 almost a year ago?

I don't live off government funding so it's not an issue with me. I look at the bigger picture in terms of the economy of the US and the survival of people who were working and cannot because of the coronavirus and the restrictions it has placed on businesses and people who worked for those businesses. To name a few, the unemployed bartenters, hotel/motel cleaning staffs, waiters/waitresses, cooks, people that staff events at stadiums, etc. Most of these people want to get back to work and reopen but because we had such poor planning in reopening guidelines, the second wave hit very hard. People who are in the prime of their lives are caught up in this pandemic shutdown. I spoke with a hairdresser in August when they reopened and she said she was at home with her kids and making the same money but she rather work than stay at home with unemployment. I told her good for her. Now the salons in my area have closed and I want her compensated because she is unemployed through no fault of her own. According to the HSA, 85% of Hawaii's restaurants will close. They need help to survive this pandemic. I don't really care for the hundreds of millions of dollars set aside for helping the horse racing industry or liquor industry but hey, McConnell has to be satisfied, right? In terms of Trump's request, it does not follow any of his agenda or the GOP.

For those people who were hard hit by the pandemic in terms covering additional expenses due to inconveniences imposed by the virus or find it hard to deal with only $300/week, Democrats in the House approved the $2000 payment to individuals and $4000 to couples. So, its all up to the Republican controlled Senate to get the addendum to Trump.

Another perspective on the handling of the pandemic by a Louisiana born American living in Wuhan that is more afraid for the people in the US than in Wuhan.

Thank you for your legacy Donald.

Operation Warp Speed becomes operation Warped Speed.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/lower ... d=msedgntp

McConnell says the $2000 is socialism for rich people.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics ... d=msedgntp
“Borrowing from our grandkids to do socialism for rich people is a terrible way to get help to families who actually need it,” McConnell said of an effort to boost the checks from $600 to $2,000
Socialism is such a misused word used to ignite negative emotion among people who don't really understand the word.

GOP Senator Mitt Romney reaffirms that its really Operation Warped Speed.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics ... d=msedgntp
“That comprehensive vaccination plans have not been developed at the federal level and sent to the states as models is as incomprehensible as it is inexcusable,” Romney wrote. “I know that when something isn’t working, you need to acknowledge reality and develop a plan — particularly when hundreds of thousands of lives are at stake.”

The rollout — which Trump dubbed Operation Warp Speed — has been plagued by delays and logistical problems ever since the federal government began distributing vaccine doses last month.
The legacy of the damage Trump has caused this Country will live on and on.

Good lord. Things are not looking good here. Illegal/legal border crossings and illegal/legal gambling have brought the blight back. It's that whole, this pandemic isn't real, thing that messes everything up. As a consequence, I've got another unpaid month of vacation. Thank you Trumpites and the included Republican party for pushing the pandemic-is-nonsense line.
