We just drove the all-electric Chevy Bolt — and Tesla is officially in trouble

NBA superstar Charles Barkley made a now-legendary comment prior to the US Olympic basketball Dream Team
playing Angola in 1992.

"I don't know anything about Angola, but I know they're in trouble," Barkley quipped. The US went on to win
by 116-48.

Tesla isn't the automotive equivalent of Angola, but at times I get the sense that General Motors considers itself
the Dream Team: the car company that symbolizes US manufacturing might.

Both Tesla and GM have been to hell and back since the financial crisis. Tesla nearly went bankrupt in 2008, but
was saved by a last-minute funding round on Christmas Eve. And GM did go bankrupt in 2009, after being bailed
out by the federal government.

I saw this sports-related line Business Insider used and laughed. GM is not even close to the "dream team", using a current reference, maybe they're more like the New York Knicks. A bunch of aging supposed 'big names' that are just constantly falling apart and put together disappointing results year after year. Tesla might be something like the Milwaukee Bucks, you turn your head when you see the rookie Giannis play but in the long run, they're still rolling under .500 (they may have a future tho).

hmm, what other NBA teams would you tag onto a car company? maybe I'll think of some and post later.

I think the writer of that article has been watching a little too much basketball.

Anyways, the Chevy Bolt has been getting a lot of positive press. Check out the following articles:
