Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu is helping remind
people not to leave animals in your car — no matter how quick a stop
you're making — this summer.

Mathieu took a challenge from PETA to sit in a hot car in 90-degree
weather outside to see how long he could handle it.

"I seriously couldn't imagine leaving my dog in a car like this," he said
in the video.

People who would leave their pets or kids in a locked car in the sun are beyond idiots, or totally oblivious.

This happened awhile ago in Hawaii but there are similar incidents nationwide every year.

Cats don't have owners. Cats have servants.

New Tennessee law allows people to save pets from hot cars

A Tennessee law allowing people to break into cars to rescue pets left sweltering by their owners went into effect July 1st. Only 16
other states protect people from civil litigation in such a situation. However, all states ban cruelty to animals, and leaving a pet in
a car can count as cruelty. Previously in Tennessee, there was a Good Samaritan law on the books but it only pertained to saving
children from hot cars.

The new law will protect people who smash windows or jimmy locks in order to save animals from over-heating from being sued
by the car's owner. A bystander can't just start smashing windows, however. They must make sure the car is locked, the animal
or child is in danger if not immediately removed, and the Good Samaritan must also call the police.

It's sad some people still think that their pet is fine alone in the car even with the window down a bit.

Police Rescue Bulldog from Hot Car in New Jersey While the Owner Shopped (ABC News)

Police and a bystander helped rescue a dog from a searing hot car when its owner was nowhere to be found.

Fifi — an English bulldog — was left in the car by her owner in Tenafly, New Jersey, on Monday and luckily, a Good Samaritan and
police were able to get her out and save her life.

“The dog was within five minutes of passing out in the passenger seat,” Robyn Urman told ABC News today. “The windows weren’t
cracked at all and that car had to be more than 100 degrees.”

Yup, the number of stories of pets and infants locked in cars just for this month (July) alone is ridiculous. However, not all of them have a happy ending ..... like this one:

Police said woman let her dog die in hot car with windows rolled up:

One suggestion that might knock some sense into these idiots would be to lock them into a car for the same amount of time their pet / infant was locked in a vehicle and during the same time of day.
