This is a 1-hour tour inside of a Don Quijote, which is a discount chain store in Japan. Don Quijote
(ドン・キホーテ) is usually called by its abbreviated nickname, Donki (ドンキ). It is a well-known
store across all of Japan where you can find discount items such as groceries and snacks, cheap clothing,
electronics, toys, cosmetics, and much more.
This Don Quijote is located in Kashiwa, Chiba prefecture, not too far from where I live. It's the closest
one to my house. It's big, but it's not the biggest. The biggest store is located in Shibuya, Tokyo, and it's
MASSIVE. Don Quijote is a great place for souvenir shopping and finding all the wacky flavors of Kit-Kats,
Pocky, and other snack items. Unfortunately, Kashiwa is very far from Tokyo so tourists do not go there,
hence, no wacky flavored items of interest there.
USPS Chooses Oshkosh Defense to Replace Its Mail-Delivery Trucks
The elderly Grumman LLVs, in service since at least 1994, will be replaced by trucks with airbags and A/C. The design is yet to be finalized,
but some will be electric.

The U.S. Postal Service has awarded Oshkosh Defense the contract to replace the aging Grumman LLV trucks that are currently
delivering mail across the country.
The contract includes an initial $482 million investment from the USPS to finalize the design of the Next Generation Delivery
Vehicle (NGDV).
The new vehicles will include both battery-electric vehicles and those with low-emission internal-combustion engines. They are
expected to be delivering mail by 2023.

It's too bad that Don Quijote's merchandising in Hawaii is operated much like Daiei and Holiday Mart before them taking over. Donki doesn't seem to want to put in the money for renovations either. All of their stores, including Marukai are really busy but they're just not the same store that you see in the video, or in Japan for that matter.

if you go to the one in honolulu (kaheka), over the last two months they've changed it to be much more like the ones in Japan. way more japanese product focused, full english+japanese labeling in each section, they're even playing the donki jingle on loop and have some don-pen (donki's penguin mascot) merchandise at the front entrance.
when don quijote first took over, they even changed the shelving to be cramped and overflowing like how it is the stores in Japan. They changed that back shortly (due to US fire regulations) and I'm glad cuz squeezing between people around the claustrophobic rows in Donki Japan kinda sucks, and that was pre-covid. Having to cram and rub up against people now for random merchandise is 10x worse.
