Video: Man slices a 130 MPH baseball in half with a Samurai sword

There are some things that simply need to be seen to be believed. And yet, there remain some things that still
seem impossible even when you have video evidence staring you right back in the face.

Case in point: this incredible video depicting a man slicing a baseball clean in half with a samurai sword. What
makes the video so remarkable is that the baseball is travelling at 101 mph, about as fast, if not faster in most
cases, than most fastballs thrown in the major leagues.

That was a cool viseo. He did know exactly where it would be coming and pretty much when.

Imagine having to draw his sword at just the right time and right angle and position. Amazing video and swordsmanship.

'They're my babies'

By Jake Polden and Sophie Jane Evans for MailOnline and David Wilkes for the Daily Mail
‎October‎ ‎15‎, ‎2015

Image

Koko the gorilla is famous for having learned a large number of hand signs from a modified version of American Sign Language.
But less well known is the fact that she absolutely loves babies - despite not having had the opportunity to have any of her own.
She often signs the word ‘baby’, carries gorilla dolls in her arms, and even pretends that her dolls can sign by moving their arms and hands.
So in celebration of the ape's 44th birthday, her trainer Francine Patterson introduced her to some other babies - a litter of kittens.
During her meeting with the kittens, she made the sign for ‘cat’ followed by ‘baby’ — telling her trainers the kittens were now her adopted
children. She also asked in sign language for one of the kittens to be placed on her head.
Despite her huge hands being the size of the young cats, Koko was gentle with the tiny balls of fluff when they arrived in a cardboard box,
carefully flicking a finger out to stroke them.

LYNN TERRY

Some people look at a pit bull's big blocky head, and feel afraid. Photographer Lynn Terry feels inspiration.

"They have that perfect shaped skull that is photogenic at any camera angle. They are typically energetic and happy," Terry says. "Then again,
I may just be biased because I love them as dogs too. I’m always rooting for the underdog."

Avi and Molly

Every day for a year, Avi Ruderman, 54, of Tel Aviv, Israel, wondered, Who saved my life? Every day for a year, Molly Allanoff, 24, a medical
student in Philadelphia, wondered, Who got my stem cells, and is he OK?

Molly’s own father had received a bone marrow transplant — but didn’t survive a year. Maybe now she had saved a life, sparing some other
daughter the agony of losing her father.

But the bone marrow registry requires a recipient survive a year before he can contact his donor.

So both waited.

Every dog person knows who Hachiko is. In case you do not, he is a world famous dog, known for holding loyalty to his human, even well
after his human passed away. Recently, a photo of the world famous dog not seen by the public before, has surfaced.

Amazing Nurse Cat Comforts Other Sick Animals in Polish Animal Shelter (PHOTOS)

Radamenes the cat is living proof that compassion is contagious.

When this little black cat was brought into an animal shelter in Bydgoszcz, Poland, he was in pretty terrible
shape. Suffering from a serious upper respiratory infection, Radamenes was given a grave diagnosis from the
vets at the shelter. Given the extent of his condition, vets contemplated euthanizing the cat to end his suffering,
but then Radamenes started to purr. With this, the vets realized that Radamenes was not ready to give up on life
yet, so they opted to begin treatment.

And thank goodness they did because now Radamenes is returning the favor by helping other animals at the shelter recover.

Rare Footage Shows Giant Squid Cruising Through A Harbor

by MELISSA CRONIN
December 26, 2015

It’s incredibly rare to see a giant squid alive—and it’s even rarer to see it cruising along next to your boat anchor.

The cephalopod was seen cruising Toyama Bay on Japan’s west coast, an area already known for its stunning firefly
squid, which glow an iridescent blue and gather in the area to spawn. This squid, however, was an entirely different beast.

Sea otter 719 just can't help but be totally adorable. (Photo: YouTube Screenshot)

In early January, a 4-week-old sea otter pup was found alone on a beach in Carmel Beach in Carmel, California.
Most likely, storms had separated the female pup from her mother. Luckily, she wasn't far from Monterey Bay
Aquarium, which is a leader in rehabilitating wild sea otter pups and can often release them back to the wild.

The First Boeing 727 Will Fly Again—For 12 Minutes

The former United airliner hasn't flown in a quarter-century.

Museum of Flight

Once N7001U takes off from Paine Field in Everett, Washington next Tuesday, the crew won't even retract its landing gear. Makes sense.
It'll only be airborne for just over 10 minutes.

The first 727 ever built rolled off the line in 1962 and hasn't flown in 25 years. But it's about to make a trip to Boeing Field (King County Airport),
where it will become a permanent exhibit at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. United Airlines donated the aircraft to the museum back in 1991,
but the 25-year restoration effort has only now just completed. This is an odd and special aircraft because it was the prototype 727, but proceeded
to go directly into airline service with United. Up until the 777, this plane was unique among Boeing commercial jets in doing so. Old airliners almost
universally go to the scrapyard but this one will enjoy a new, sedate lease on life, joining Boeing's 737 and 747 prototypes at the Museum's new
Aviation Pavilion.
