BTW, were you disappointed by the Willow's Na koa luncheon selection? I thought it was "small" in the choices of dishes...

Sorry to say...but my 2x experiences there was extremely disappointing.....services was OK, but the food was not worth the price. I plan on never going there again.... there's other restaurants in town or Waikiki that have a better value...
Thanks for the response, what did you have?
So how did you like DK's. For me, I would prefer to just cook my own. Cooked at various steak houses for about 6 years so I can cook my own. I like things simple anyways.
I liked it more then my wife did. She loves the ambiance(sp?) and atmosphere of the places that we go, I guess she wasn't really liking it as much over there. The food was fine though. She got the aged rib steak and I had Bobby's special, the bone in rib eye. Her aged beef was a lot more tender and tastier then mines, so I would suggest that. I also had the Escargot for appetizers, which was pretty much the best one Ive eatenm, although escargot pretty much tastes the same wherever you go.

I'm a firm believer that when it comes to Japanese food only JAPAN rivials Hawaii as to the best Japanese restaurants.....I was wrong. I have seen & tasted the best Japanese food in Las Vegas (I was not a happy man about taking my wifey to this place$$$$$$$ ),But, she really really wanted to try this place Because, Robert De Niro was a part owner. And you know what? This place is called "KOI's" and it is ABSOLELUTELY the place to eat a "Sesame seed encrusted Lobster on Bok Choy with a Yuzu glace sauce" that melted in my mouth. The Koi's restaurant is in the PLANET HOLLYWOOD casino & hotel....and I with give it 5 stars on the Mr.EDGE merit!
The drinks ($15 smacks) are great (I had the Asian Pear(grey goose vodka )and the wifey had the Summer Sling(rum drink- like a tequilla sunrise).
And reservations is a MUST!
Asked for the GM- Steve is his name, and say "Mr.EDGE recommended this place!"

WELL just got back from VIVA LAS VEGAS...and two places that I just tried for the first time was "BLT"(voted the #1 HAMBURGER JOINT- oh my the fried onion rings are KILLA!) , which is at Mirage.....great food! BUT the Highlight of my trip was Tom Colicchio's "THE CRAFT STEAK HOUSE" at MGM!! Unreal Steaks! BEST place I've ever at....no wonder why this guy is voted TOP CHEF......bravo!

Is that per person or per couple? Maybe I'll try the hamburger joint. Hope it's not $20 per burger.Average Check
3 course menu starting at $110

The CRAFTSTEAK house is very $$$$....they had steaks as high as $185.00 per person!Irse wrote: No wonderIs that per person or per couple? Maybe I'll try the hamburger joint. Hope it's not $20 per burger.Average Check

BLT, is more reasonable compared to the counter as to price...me and the wifey paid about $60.00 bucks for two burgers, onion rings (GOTTA HAVE this ), sweet potatoe fries (the counter is 100Xs better- get the chili fries or potatoe) and one milk shake ( it can serve 2 people easy...unless you like be greedy and have your own! )
I'm not afraid to spend good money on a good restaurant experiences....as long as the food is good quality....for me quality > quanity!

I'll be in Vegas in a couple of weeks and was looking around Aria(where we'll be staying) for a good steakhouse. This one sounds awesome. Pricey. But gotta try it once so we know. Can you tell me what kind of steak you had and maybe some sides that you ordered?
The BLT sounds good, again what type of burger did you order? And was it really about $25-30 a burger? Or was that with the onion rings, drinks, etc. And where is it located? I'll probably end up looking it up anywayz. Thanks for the tips, maybe I'll get lucky at the tables, and I can eat with Vegas's money.

If it's dinner, I definitely go for the New York steak.
Otherwise, I recommend their miso butterfish - broke the mouth.
I like their food too. It's affordable.

I ordered the "NEW YORK STRIP" (first time I didn't order the RIBEYE, my wife got that one...and both steaks were excellent...her's was "ROASTED....mine was "GRILLED") I was in a dinner party of 4, so we all order different items like , starch, veggies ( I went with the grilled asparagus...it could have serve for 6! ),other sides as well.kik050 wrote:

Can I suggest you start with the LOBSTER Bisque! Best I had before was in BOSTON, and this bisque blew that one out the door!
My wife order the CLASSIC...I got the SMOKED BACON ( awesome!)which I added a slice of AVACODO and swiss cheese (about $15 bucks) .
kik050 wrote:

It's at the MIRAGE, to your left as you walk in or across from the SUGAR FACTORY (btw, their selling lolly pops for $25!!! Is that NUTS or what! If you've eaten at the "COUNTER in Kahala" then the price range is about the same...I've enjoyed both places!!kik050 wrote: And was it really about $25-30 a burger? I looked up the menu on line and was thinking of ordering the smoked bacon with a slice of avocado. Sounds good.
