Dad Watson played with Timmy at UH
Nebraska is losing a young defensive player to the transfer portal.

Redshirt freshman outside linebacker Wynden Ho'ohuli entered his name Friday, the Journal Star confirmed, making him the seventh scholarship player to leave the program since late November.

Ho'ohuli (6-foot-3 and 220 pounds) was a heralded prospect out of Hawaii, checking in as a consensus four-star recruit and considered one of the top 200 players in the 2021 class by both Rivals and 247Sports.

Ho'ohuli was the first Hawaiian player to sign with Nebraska since 1999 and played his high school ball at powerhouse Mililani High on O'ahu.

Carter Kamana is a 6-2, 180-pound Wide Receiver from Honolulu, HI. A preferred walk on at Washington State in 2020. As a high school junior in 2018 he caught 84 passes for 959 yards and 8 TDs as Iolani went 8-3 and reached the Division I playoffs. Comes from a big football family: brother Noa plays at Hawaii, brother Tim played at Wyoming, father Carter played at Michigan State, grandfather John Kamana Jr. and uncle, John Kamana III both played at USC.

I remember Taulapapa from his days at Punahou. He was one of those players I had hoped would come to UH.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

What, Lanning not willing to offer Tony’s son now that he’s coaching Oregon’s DL?

We been conditioned to think the portal is where you lose players.

I like Chang's perspective on the portal. It's also a place to recruit players, like JC transfers. If they end up good, then go get them. So just because UH did not recruit them, or they choose to sign somewhere else, still - get chance. If not now, then later.

It would be especially nice to land Faumui with the need on the interior DL.

Michigan State football OL Jacob Isaia enters the transfer portal

Michigan State football legacy offensive lineman Jacob Isaia has entered his name into NCAA’s transfer portal. Isaia was a member of MSU’s 2018 recruiting class and has been a reserve offensive lineman during his time in East Lansing.

Isaia is the grandson of former MSU fullback Bob Apisa, who was an All-American and helped lead the Spartans to National Championships in 1965 and 1966.

Isaia came to Michigan State from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He never started a game in his Spartan career.

Previously lived in Halawa. Uncle is Ma'a Tanuvasa
Michigan State freshman linebacker Ma'a Gaoteote, a top-100 recruit, has entered the transfer portal.

Gaoteote recorded seven tackles and a forced fumble in eight games as a reserve for the Spartans, who went 11-2 and finished No. 9 nationally. ESPN rated the 6-foot-1, 245-pound Gaoteote as the No. 11 outside linebacker and No. 96 overall recruit in the 2021 class.

A native of Las Vegas who played at area power Bishop Gorman High School, Gaoteote was the most decorated recruit in coach Mel Tucker's first class at Michigan State. He is the younger brother of Ohio State linebacker Palaie Gaoteote IV, an ESPN top-20 recruit in the 2018 class who began his career at USC.
