Re: Timmy Chang Asked to Apply For HC Job?
And it may be unfair to him, but being known as "Timmy" forever doesn't help create a perception that he's grown up. Didn't he try to be "Tim" for a while?

Ken Niumatalolo will always be known at "Kenny." On the mainland, it always was "Ken."
If I ever see him on the mainland, I'll have to hold back and say "Hello Coach, can I get a picture with you? Mahalo."
Not "Sup Kenny."
Long way from the campus at UH.

Re: *** Official New HC Timmy Chang Thread ***
This is going to be a painful few years for Hawaii Football, the money will be tight, recruiting and the coaching is going to be status quote. I'm ready for 5-6 win seasons for the next few years, maybe even getting a Hawaii bowl invite at 6-7 because ESPN added some new bowl games.
But the RnS is back. So thats the only thing that gives me hope for 5-6 wins. Head Coaching experience will take a nose dive for a few years. Hopefully, Timmy can take this dumpster fire Matlin has gifted him and be up to the challenge?

Although Chang was not my first choice (would have rather seen him as an OC for a few years), I am glad this entire mess is finally over. We can now move on.
I wonder who he will retain on his staff?

It will be interesting to see who are his assistants. I hope he goes with a couple older guys to help him with experience.

Good luck to TC.
Think he learned a lot while at Nevada under Norvell as a WR, TE and he did work with the offensive line one season I recall. He's also a aggressive recruiter landing commits like TE Cole Turner who is turning pro.
