St. Louis QB AJ Bianco Commits to Nevada
I think this is a great commit. He's big, athletic and has a strong arm, but only has limited starting experience due to 2020 being a lost year. Also a basketball player. Had offers from Nebraska and Washington State.

During the University of Hawaii's bye week, offensive coordinator Bo Graham stopped by St. Louis practice for a recruiting trip along with former St. Louis QB Chevan Cordeiro.
Current crusader gunslinger A.J. Bianco could very well join Cordeiro and UH Legend Timmy Chang as yet another St. Louis quarterback to start at UH.
Although the senior quarterback prospect might have offers from Nebraska and Washington State, he says he wants to take his talents right down the street.
“I look up to those guys a lot, there’s a lot of St. Louis ties to Hawaii,” Bianco said this week. “That’s the hometown team right there and Chevan, he’s my boy. I have offers from some other schools, but UH right now is at the top.”

6'4" and 225#, good pocket awareness, hits receivers in their stride, escapes pocket collapses, strong and accurate passer. graham and cordeiro were smart to reach out to bianco. hope he gets to 6'5" and 235# by the end of the year.

This is freaking huge. First Chevan now AJ.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.
“WELCOME HOME COACH” Go get’em Timmy

Yowza! If AJ signs, the QB position is gonna look real good with Chevan and Brayden already here. When is the last time that there has been true QB succession in place with HS QBs here versus plugging in a transfer? Building a Program 101.

We are old school where we believe in the "succession" plan. If the Freshman is really good, and he thinks he is good, and not playing, he is most likely looking at the transfer portal.

Despite a limited body of on-field work, Bianco has drawn rave reviews.
“He looks like an NFL guy to me,” said former UH head coach June Jones, who has followed Bianco’s progress for several years. “Pocket passer, but he can move and create things, too. He’s accurate. I think he’s all upside.”
Bianco, who was born on Maui, moved to Oahu in eighth grade. He did not play as a Saint Louis freshman in 2018 because of the ILH’s transfer rules. After mop-up appearances, he suffered a season-ending injury to his collarbone in 2019. The ILH’s 2020 season was canceled because of the pandemic.
“He’s only played four (full) games in his high school career,” Saint Louis coach Ron Lee said, referencing two victories over Punahou and losses to Kamehameha and Las Vegas’ Bishop Gorman. “He has a tremendous upside. It’s his first season getting out there (as a starter), and he’s done a nice job.”
Bianco has displayed a powerful right arm and escapability this year, amassing 1,148 yards and seven touchdown passes on 63.5% accuracy. He has rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns. In the Punahou rematch, Bianco was 30-for-43 for 341 yards and two touchdowns.
“He’s got the size,” Lee said of 6-foot-4, 225-pound Bianco. “He’s got a big arm. He’s real smart. He knows a lot of football, a lot of coverages, a tremendous football IQ.”

The proverb that "good things come to those who wait" which extols patience as a virtue is in short supply these days. Building a foundation through hard work and reps seem to have gone by the wayside in favor of shortcuts. Skipping steps over learning your craft pervades all aspects of life nowadays - even with the mob: https://www.wsj.com/articles/lousy-mana ... 1633360973cabanalane wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 11:28 am We are old school where we believe in the "succession" plan. There's a chance that "good things come to those who wait" may apply to this group of QBs. All three, Cordeiro, Schager and Bianco patiently waited their turn in high school and didn't get to start until their senior year. Each of them were behind QBs that eventually went to D1 programs and could have transferred to other high schools to get a chance to play. Bianco was behind de Laura in 2019 and didn't play last year due to Covid. We'll just need to watch to see how this plays out.Duster wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 2:06 pmThe proverb that "good things come to those who wait" which extols patience as a virtue is in short supply these days. Re: St. Louis QB AJ Bianco Commits
The best man should play. We all agree with that. Where does this put TG when he does not start "Local?"
There were pressure on Rolo to play Cordeiro every time Cole McDonald throw an incomplete. As a coach, not sure he would want to deal with this kind of pressure (or some will call it BS).

Re: St. Louis QB AJ Bianco Commits
people that know football and want to win don't care if the QB is a local or not. And good coaches don't care either. If they don't win they eventually lose their jobs.

Re: St. Louis QB AJ Bianco Commits
That is true, but there are locals who are objective and non-objective. The people who know football fall into one category. The people who think they know fall into the other.
