UH Will Play at Ching Field - 100% Capacity Being Allowed
Re: UH Will Play at Ching Field - Fans May Be Allowed for New Mexico St. Game
apparently, the state department of health created a stealth committee that approves all releases of information on data, numbers, clusters concerning the virus, i guess. i say "i guess", because the committee was not well publicized, does not meet in public, has no public input and no public outreach. even university of hawaii researchers have been denied critical information that would assist them in better defining virus trends, vectors and cluster events. but, the governor was apparently influenced by the efficiency of this committee's secrecy as he adopted the same reluctance to release data, numbers or clusters concerning his decisions to ban players' families and fans sitting and cheering in the stands
now that the health stealth committee has been outed, ige's stance against players' families and fans in stands is difficult to justify and could be driving his reversal on his ban on players' families and fans sitting and cheering in the stands.

maybe his possible reversal is driven by the fact that covid hospitalizations have dropped to under 150 people? seems kind of obvious, no?st808 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 11:45 am apparently, the state department of health created a stealth committee that approves all releases of information on data, numbers, clusters concerning the virus, i guess. i say "i guess", because the committee was not well publicized, does not meet in public, has no public input and no public outreach. even university of hawaii researchers have been denied critical information that would assist them in better defining virus trends, vectors and cluster events. but, the governor was apparently influenced by the efficiency of this committee's secrecy as he adopted the same reluctance to release data, numbers or clusters concerning his decisions to ban players' families and fans sitting and cheering in the stands

Then there's no need to be the nice guy. If COVID # goes up, then it's all going to be on him. Play it safe, ride it out. No attendance. No care. Not running for office again. No Worries, get security outside your house 24/7 as a former governor, no? Let's not forget that sweet pension for the highest position in the state of Hawaii.EITSwarrior wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 10:48 amIge already has his two terms. Can't run again.cabanalane wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:01 am I see this as a political move now. Open up the games, and everyone will love Ige again. Ige for Governor. Is election year coming up?
Not opening up the game would be political suicide.
**I know my tone is wrong BTW, I'm truly sad for the fans, players, and family. Football is already a "dying" sport for the next gen. I became a fan first by watching the games as a kid, and talking about football at school on Mondays. I've been wrong on the forum all the time. I hope this is not true.**

Another example of the state officials, politicians are whore$ to the tourist dollars. Tourist stuff have been fully opened for a long time. The locals can't have grad parties, weddings, parties.
This shows out a$$ backwards we still are in Hawaii. The other college teams have packed stadiums, making tons of $$$, but our $hitty politicians screws the local community.

wonder how many recruits will be in the stands at the next game? another weekend seeing stadiums packed with fans across the nation for college and professional sports. san diego state is ranked #24. would be nice if they continued to rise in the rankings and arrive at the ching field in the top 15.

This shows how much it means to the families of players to be able to watch and support them in person while competing.....

and this is the reason that it is harder for Hawaii to get it's fair share of transfers. Most transfer to schools that their parents can go to and attend their games.
