*****OFFICIAL FRESNO STATE VS HAWAII GAME THREAD*****
Re: *****OFFICIAL FRESNO STATE VS HAWAII GAME THREAD*****
This has had to be a very special win for these young men, because not only did they upset number 18 FSU, they did it on national TV with no fans in the stands to cheer them on and to provide that 12th man atmosphere, no they had to dig deep and feed off them selves which is not easy without fans, and also because Hawaii had to be the laughing stock of all of College Football because we the only state
that has no Fans in the stand because our genius Gov. who's reason for saying it's much safer to watch the game in bars then to allow a small percentage of fans in the stand with strict protocols in an outdoor environment, and to top it off
at the end of last season they found out they were going to be homeless as Aloha Stadium was deemed unfit to play in, then our awesome legislators as not surprise drop the bomb on starting to rebuild a new stadium, so props to UH AD and all involved in getting Ching field retro fitted so that not only can the football team have a place to play,(might not be the nicest) but a place to play on home turf, these young men and the football team are going through some rough times, but through it all they persevered through all the down times and proved they are WARRIORS!!
Congratulations to the Warriors on this magnificent win, well deserved!
Go Bows!!

This is an excellent post! People want to crack on the coaching staff but look at the obstacles they are faced with in getting these kids to buy in and to be fired up. I think they are doing a great job. This team can make a bowl game this season.ulua wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 10:25 pm This has had to be a very special win for these young men, because not only did they upset number 18 FSU, they did it on national TV with no fans in the stands to cheer them on and to provide that 12th man atmosphere, no they had to dig deep and feed off them selves which is not easy without fans, and also because Hawaii had to be the laughing stock of all of College Football because we the only state

I dunno... We are 2-1 without fans and could easily be 3-0. Maybe having no fans is a low key home field advantage?

Can't say enough about those CBS broadcasters. If I didn't know it, I would say they were home town biased. They gave a tribute to the fallen Warrior family, Robert Kekaula and Colt Brennan. They also said early in the game who the players to watch were for both teams and they expected Khoury Bethley besides Calvin to make big plays on defense and as if to be mind readers, Khoury did make some big plays. Unfortunately they did say the same thing other broadcasters have been saying which is why doesn't UH have crossing patterns for the receiver for short yardage and some sit down routes for 6 yards instead of constantly going for the home run ball. We want CBSSN not FS1.

I guarantee Cordeiro still got starter reps last week. He was only a scratch just prior to kickoff.uhwarriors wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 2:56 amHe did get a full week of 1st team reps. He found out on Tuesday that he was starting.

positions should not be lost because you were injured. offensive play calling improved in the fresno game. defense was outstanding. and the kicking team came through as well.
did turner take a knee on the last play and pop out of the scrum in celebration. never seeing other angles did not help in determining whether he took a knee before appearing to trot out. did he explain what happened in any interview? the only angle offered isn't clear.
san diego state is now ranked #25. will they improve their ranking by the time they play hawaii?

I Could be wrong but looks like turner didn't take a knee, he got stuffed and came outside for some odd reason, then tried to take a knee as the defender punched it out simultaneously, heads up play by Schager to shadow Turner from behind which allowed him to jump on the ball to save the game.st808 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 12:00 pm positions should not be lost because you were injured. offensive play calling improved in the fresno game. defense was outstanding. and the kicking team came through as well.

Good post game interview. I notice that Todd's voice broke when he spoke about the crowds not being there. Also, he made mention of the last play which almost lost it. Finally, Brayden's comments about Chevan.

I think it was a cheap shot for the classless question posed to Calvin Turner by the ignorant journalist who thought he was funny about is it hard to take a knee. It takes the air out of his balloon to feel good about the win. Yeah, it was a bad move but totally classless to ask the question.

6 turnovers by Hawaii defense and that accidental low hit to the Fresno QB slowed him down in the 3rd quarter turned the momentum to Hawaii favor for the incredible win.
Re: *****OFFICIAL FRESNO STATE VS HAWAII GAME THREAD*****
He was blocked into the passer. That was an unfortunate hit, but clearly unintentional...in my opinion as well. The announcers gave an excellent analysis of the officiating throughout the game. Overall, it was biased against Hawaii. Still, we did it. We overcame bad officiating and we did it with a back-up quarterback.WarriorTyme wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 11:52 pm 6 turnovers by Hawaii defense and that accidental low hit to the Fresno QB slowed him down in the 3rd quarter turned the momentum to Hawaii favor for the incredible win.

Two UH players make MWC players of the week. Khoury for defense and Brayden for freshman of the week. Toa Taua took offensive player of the week in Nevada's win over Boise.
