https://www.staradvertiser.com/2021/02/ ... ial-media/Malzahn, a potential jackpot hire for UCF, was 68-35 in eight seasons at Auburn before being let go in December. He has run a fast-paced offense learned under Todd Graham at Tulsa and made sure to note that as a quarterbacks coach some of his players have passed for 5,065 and 4,019-yards in the past.
With that in mind, maybe when Gabriel sits down with his new coach he can propose a non-conference meeting that matches UCF and Hawaii. A game that would, on one hand, be a rematch of a 2017 Hawaii High School Athletic Association semifinal between he and Chevan Cordeiro, won by Saint Louis, 47-23, that produced 780 passing yards and eight aerial touchdowns. And, on the other, pit Malzahn against Graham.
Now, that would be something to talk about.

Rather play a P5 school. Could care less about UCF.

Re: UH vs UCF in the future?
This is a ridiculous conjecture made by Ferd Lewis in the article. First it takes about 12 hours to fly to Florida from Hawaii or vice-versa with layovers/transfers so its a minimum 24 hour round trip. Who has the money at either school to make it profitable for both parties? Anybody left with any energy after 16 hours of travelling, settling in at the hotel and getting ready for practice? Nice dream but far from reality.

Re: UH vs UCF in the future?
Nope. In addition to the reasons listed above, we don't recruit in Florida while UCF recruits in Hawaii.

I can see the reason for scheduling games with Army (NY) and Navy (MD) because the military is the second largest contributer to the State's economy. And, because of the military presence here, there might be more fans in the crowd. Also, the military schools get a lot of press.

Not interested in UCF. Go Blow Ferd.

Agree with this 100%. Don't mind traveling that far for Army, Navy or P5 name school but not for UCF.shrek2 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 6:49 am I can see the reason for scheduling games with Army (NY) and Navy (MD) because the military is the second largest contributer to the State's economy. LOL Another reason why y'all don't want to play UCF is that infamous loss to FAU at home no less. 12 hour flight to Honolulu for the Owls and they still beat ya.

Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.
