I'd hate for them to do that to the sand volleyball program cause they are really great and competing for national championships. Unfortunately if the goal is 15,000 seats then I'm not seeing a lot of other options unless they have temporary movable bleachers on the track during games.My3Cats wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 10:57 amI'm curious, and was wondering about that too. Maybe it would include the relocation of the sand volleyball tournament courts with new bleacher seating, and the sand practice courts behind the new makai bleachers with basically a second deck to fill in that space.EITSwarrior wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:40 am UH said they "hope to receive zoning approval to expand seating capacity to 15,000 next year." I am curious on how they will find the space to add in 6,000 more seats.

they could relocate the sand court facility, i'm sure. here are some other things they could do to create more space:EITSwarrior wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 2:25 pm I'd hate for them to do that to the sand volleyball program cause they are really great and competing for national championships. - demolish Klum Gym and use the space for sand volleyball and other things. with the new student fitness center in upper campus, they can spare Klum.
- move sand volleyball and other facilities to where Andrews Amphitheatre is. that land is so underutilized and it's as close to lower campus as you can get without being on lower campus.
- move sand volleyball to Bachman Lawn
- demolish the music school (JUST KIDDING CHAWANCUT!!!)

I agree with Klum Gym being demolished. They could build new sand courts there. Or expand the parking garage and build the courts on toppoidog wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:51 pmthey could relocate the sand court facility, i'm sure. here are some other things they could do to create more space:EITSwarrior wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 2:25 pm I'd hate for them to do that to the sand volleyball program cause they are really great and competing for national championships. I think we are overlooking the pool.
Seriously. No seriously. I have been to a dive n movie at the stinky waterpark.
Alls we need is the screen. And we got Vegas style pool party. For real.

That’s cool. Too bad Les Murakami stadium wasn’t build on steel wheels so it could rotate around for football.uhwarriors wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 12:10 pm https://twitter.com/HawaiiFootball/status/1400892899986792450

This is news hype but I wonder how much the legislature is actually funding and how much of it is private funding.

Would like to see some funding come from HVCB as they can advertise trips to Hawaii for fans to view the games at various large venues away from Ching Field.
