Hawaii Releases First Depth Chart For 2020

From the mwwire.com teams from the MWC posted their initial depth charts yesterday.

Regarding Hawaii:

What stands out for me is that LG-Levao earned a spot on the first team. This is great news. It tells me that the players endurance, stamina, has improved from last season, considering that the offense had been running uptempo-no huddle during fall camp.

It wouldn't surprise me if Eletise gets in the rotation at RG.

Calvin Taylor RB, back up to Reed, looks to be speedy and talented.

Smart, Victor, Bussey, Bowens at receivers.

It wouldn't surprise me if Stovall and Mardner end up stealing the show. There's so much depth at WR that I don't see Cephus (my favorite), Bright, Panoke on the depth charts. I would think Cephus, Panoke would be on the traveling squad.

Abbot back up to Cordeiro is surprising. Although I see Justin on the traveling squad, and fighting his way back at 2. Justin's QB coach said he was out (probably for the obvious reason) for fall camp and has a lot of catching up to do.

On defense:

My initial reaction is that this is a 2-5-4 Defense on passing downs.

Pavihi and Muasau at DE. Laulu and Taala at DT.

Pritchard, Bethely, Frazier at LB.

Ford, Kaneshiro at S.

Davis, Lockridge at DB.

With Bethely and Frazier at LB that's like
having 6 DB on the field.

From looking at past Graham coached ASU defenses expect to see a lot of blitzing from the S, DB

I expect to see a lot of Tuitupou and Smith on the D- line, especially on obvious running plays.

Regarding the specialist:

Incoming freshmen Shipley is lined up to do
the KO, PK.

Stack won the job over Gaudion (who has a 41 yrds per punt career average).

Victor at PR. Hunter at KR.

I'm surprised that Stovall didn't get the nod.

This can be a very intriguing team to watch this season. A new offense, defense, coaching staff and developing story lines of which players are stepping up, and rising to the top to earn a spot in the lineup.

Looks like Graham is looking to get more speed on the field at the expense of bulk.

Mac did that when he first got here.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.
