By my count, there will be 4 new incoming scholarship outside WRs (Zion Bowens, Rico Bussey Jr., Calvin Turner, Riley Wilson) to add to the 4 returning scholarship outside WRs (Mekel Ealy, Nick Mardner, Jonah Panoke, Jared Smart) for the 2020 season.....though 3 (Bussey Jr., Turner & Smart) will be seniors.
With only 3 scholarship RBs (Reed, Keli'iliki, Hunter) currently slated to be on the 2020 season roster.....with Furuta done and Holly leaving after last season, hopefully UH is able to add another 2020 RB commit.

Depending on Hassenritter, we may have 8 new receivers. Other positions could use more depth.kapakahi wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 4:35 pmBy my count, there will be 4 new incoming scholarship outside WRs (Zion Bowens, Rico Bussey Jr., Calvin Turner, Riley Wilson) to add to the 4 returning scholarship outside WRs (Mekel Ealy, Nick Mardner, Jonah Panoke, Jared Smart) for the 2020 season.....though 3 (Bussey Jr., Turner & Smart) will be seniors.

I counted 17 wide receivers on last years roster. We also lost some talented starters in Byrd and Ward. Maybe I missed something. Bussey looks like he can start.

The is a good chance Bussey may start considering we lost three starters. Smart will be back and Stovall is back on the team.

bussey jr. better get in line.we lost a lot of receivers but we are loaded.

I don't know this kid...but after watching the video...he's gonna start. There are many starters in a spread offense. I don't think any significant contributors to last year's successful year will suffer. Recognize a successful grad transfer from a state familiar to the coach. Sorry...from all the covid...and...Floyd...distractions... who was it that we lost aside from Ward and Byrd?

Sharsch. Looks like everyone else will return at this point. No WR has entered the transfer portal.SundayJam wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 3:42 amI don't know this kid...but after watching the video...he's gonna start. There are many starters in a spread offense. Someone on the other board said that Calvin Turner will play running back. Makes sense. Helps in RB depth and opens up a spot on receivers (with his talent and speed, I figured he was going to win a starting spot at receiver)

Could it be some WR either didn't qualify to enter into UH, are academically ineligible or considering transferring back home due to what's happening with the pandemic?
Re: North Texas grad transfer WR Rico Bussey Jr. commits
Nah...for a 'spread offense' we are thin...and if you check Mr. B's tape, he is legit and a gift. I think Stovall has paid for whatever and is gonna finish like a winner. I really don't care about whatever because he paid it and returned. Way to man up.
Hawaii did the right thing where this virus is concerned. It is a safe place to play. Except for all the kissing. I kissed way too many sisters...in an aloha sort of way. Hawaii and its people are beautiful. I miss you.
I have mad respect for La Tech players...and they have mad respect for North Texas. Welcome home, Mr. Bussey.
