The Skinny: Lancaster High School star DQ James is unique because he displays excellent top-end speed in a compact build. You are hard-pressed to find players in the 5-foot-7, 180-pound neighborhood who can reach top gear in the 10.8's, but that's exactly what he did -- twice -- on back-to-back weekends Feb. 29 and March 6, which saw James post identical 10.83's. James also registered a 10.91 on Feb. 22. Those three times eclipsed his strong 11.04 from his sophomore track season, which culminated in James running the first leg of Lancaster's Texas Class 5A bronze medal-winning 4x100 relay. James shared carries this past fall with LSU 2020 four-star signee Kevontre Bradford. James ran for more than 800 yards and 10 TD's on 9.5 yards per carry. ULM marked James' first FBS offer, which arrived Feb. 4, and he added offers from New Mexico and Hawaii in the final week of March.

He's a god damn blur. Always great to add speed. Those Texas teams always have tons of speed.

I guess Coach Graham was not kidding when he was wanting more speed. Still early in the recruiting season. I hope he sticks with his commitment.

maybe the defense will be a four and out.
