Actually, I take that back, I think that Hanapa'a was probably securing Dae Dae's reaffirmation he is 100% committing! Who knows at this point. I just want the OC to be official before NLI day.

Looks like D'Anthony Jones' LBCC teammate (and Long Beach Poly HS '17 grad and Air Force bounceback) WR Zion Bowens might be visiting. https://www.lbccvikings.com/sports/fbal ... ew=profile

Has 2 to play 2. Since left Air Force in Spring 2018 (after enrolling in Fall 2017), wouldn't be eligible (according to MWC transfer rules) to transfer to UH until Summer 2020 (since would need to be 2 years removed from attending another MWC institution). Just got offered by Eastern Michigan last weekend. https://twitter.com/zion_ffcg/status/1221208669112565761

Like his speed. Does the transfer rule apply to someone who transferred to a JC first before going to another MW school? I would think it would only apply to someone who transfers directly to another MW school.

Applies to all MWC scholarship players. Can't receive a scholarship from a new MWC institution until two (2) full years have lapsed from last attendance at a previous MWC institution....regardless of any attendance at JC in the interim between attendance at the MWC institutions. Only exception is for non-scholarship walk-on players. That's why it's rare to see any scholarship players start at a MWC institution then transfer directly to another MWC institution. Most scholarship players will attend JC instead in between. This MWC transfer rule is the reason why not a single player from Nevada ever transferred to UH after Rolo left Nevada. Meanwhile, scholarship players can transfer within Pac-12 Conference and be placed on scholarship immediately by their new school.

Question - Does AFA give athletic scholarships? I thought all cadets who are enrolled have tuition, room and board covered by the federal government, and if they reaffirm their intent to stay after their sophomore year, they are committed to military service upon graduation. If the two year rule only applies to scholarship athletes, should it apply to Zion as well? I can see the two year transfer rule applying if the criteria is being a full time student including a non-scholarship athlete. Sorry - too lazy to look up MWC rules, but the subject piqued my curiosity.

My understanding is that....the MWC 2-year transfer rule still applies to AFA athletes.

Looks like D'Anthony might be going to the other UH....University of Houston....and the AAC....since telling his former LBCC teammate (who signed with Boise State) that won't be seeing each other for awhile.... Hmmm...…. :-? https://twitter.com/danthony4jones/status/1223725240892526592

Looks like D'Anthony Jones is the only hybrid DE/OLB (because he is such a game-changer) that still being actively recruited by UH…..since UH never tripped STL DE/OLB prospect Darrell Masaniai (after Stutz left) after an early offer.
Unless he has a new late offer, looks as Masaniai is going the military academy route (Navy, Army or Air Force)…..having tripped Navy in December and visited Air Force this past weekend....and never tripping SDSU & UNLV (after their own respective coaching changes) after getting early offers from the previous coaches. https://twitter.com/DarrellMasaniai/status/1222668420757377026 https://twitter.com/DarrellMasaniai/status/1206709547152265216 https://twitter.com/DarrellMasaniai/status/1142929745983619072 https://twitter.com/DarrellMasaniai/status/1149553704812474368 https://twitter.com/DarrellMasaniai/status/1137499672833011712

Hoping that Bennett will be flying out to NorCal to pay a home visit to Miller then fly out to Florida to pay a home visit to Smith too.....unless a couple other HS OT prospects are already scheduled to fly in to visit UH this coming weekend (which is unlikely given that Weber himself was doing the OT prospect evaluation & recruitment for this Late Signing Date before the coaching changeover)…. https://twitter.com/SmithAnthony56/status/1206350410556022787 https://twitter.com/_MEM_69_/status/1194421076853346304
Would suck if Miller ends up at UNLV instead....though hasn't committed to the Rebels thus far this morning.... https://twitter.com/joearrigo/status/1223393526118940672 https://twitter.com/joearrigo/status/1224072659517919232

kapakahi wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:46 pm Hoping that Graham can somehow lure former Radford HS and UH DL Joe Seumalo away from San Jose State to be named the new DL Assistant Coach at UH this week.....before NLI Signing Day next week.
https://sjsuspartans.com/sports/footbal ... eumalo/444

Seumalo has been successfully recruiting Polynesian DL and LBs within Cali (both Northern & Southern Cal....from both JC and HS) to San Jose State....and previously coached under Graham as DL Coach at Arizona State so should have some Arizona recruiting ties.....as well as recruiting ties to Nevada (since also coached at UNLV) and with Amerika Samoa (where he actively recruited players to Oregon State)…..

Link

Luring Seumalo back to UH could maybe sway DL Soane Toia (who is originally from Tonga and was being recruited & had been offered by Brian Smith for UH before the coaching change) away from San Jose State....but also would probably hurt San Jose State near-term recruiting efforts with Polynesian defensive players....

https://247sports.com/college/san-jose- ... 142806743/
Toia said his relationship with defensive line coach Joe Seumalo played a key role in his decision.

"My relationship with Coach Seumalo is great," said Toia. "He understands the Polynesian way."

If not Joe Seumalo, hopefully former Baldin HS player Chad Kauha'aha'a (now that the new USC DC has apparently decided not to retain him)….since he's got lots of DL coaching experience (Utah State, Wisconsin, Utah, Oregon State, Boise State, USC)…..and recruiting ties here and in Utah, Oregon, Cali and Amerika Samoa.....
