Jones said. “A lot of people don't know that I want to get out of California and get away from home. Hawaii is a place that would have a great structure for me and that I couldn't run home even if I wanted to. That'll play a big part in my decision.

“The area is nice and not like where I'm from. There's no gangs, not having to worry about stuff, I can go take a walk. It would be me changing my life. I want to change it. Living the beach life and getting to try new things is intriguing.”
Sounds like Abe (a Crenshaw HS grad himself)…..as well as Cedric Byrd (D'Anthony's former LBCC teammate back in 2017).....must've already clued him in on what island life is like here.....compared to life in South Central LA......or Las Vegas (UNLV) or Houston too.

Hopefully this is a good sign....that Kapolei HS '20 WR De'Zhaun Stribling (6-2, 190)....and will be tripping to UH next weekend....

Former Kapolei slotback Ikari Stokes has a vision of Warriors life for Stribling, his cousin.

“He’s going to UH. Their offense is a good match. He’ll play four games, take a break, redshirt. Then his second year, he’ll be playing and he’ll be like a John Ursua, just bigger.” Stokes said.”

Stribling is focused, for sure.

“He’s told me it should be Hawaii because of the offense they run,” Stribling said. “It would fit me and it’s home, too, and would make everything easier. Adjusting to the college lifestyle would be easier.”

Was offered by USF's previous coaching staff....so might not have been re-offered....and hasn't tripped there yet.....and hopefully won't be.

Though D'Anthony had alot of early offers (including from Boise State where 2 of his LBCC defensive teammates signed), he's only taken official recruiting trips to Houston & UNLV....along with UH. Just hoping that he doesn't trip to Boise State (and get hosted by his former LBCC teammates) next weekend....though doesn't sound like snow country would be his preference.

Yoro just offered Darius' "little" brother Sergio (6-0, 315). While played almost exclusively at OG and some Center for Mililani, could also possibly play NG....

Sounds like Jones is looking for a father figure, Graham will be a good match as a coach. If he wants to really get away Hawaii is the right place for him.

From what I can see on the internet, Logan Taylor was at Southern Utah University one year, then Narbonne CC. 5'11 Safety? Hmmm... seems to hit hard like Khoury Bethley but wonder why he didn't stick with Southern Utah.
