SO it looks like Smith, Cvercko, Ghobrial, and Stutz are all gone.

We saw this already. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are all going.Bleed_Green wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 5:49 pm SO it looks like Smith, Cvercko, Ghobrial, and Stutz are all gone.

I have never seen anyone wear another schools colors while still being employed at another school. I mean, logically speaking.EITSwarrior wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 5:53 pmWe saw this already. I’m pretty sure the assistant coaches contracts are on a year to year basis. So are they technically still employed by UH?Bleed_Green wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 6:11 pmI have never seen anyone wear another schools colors while still being employed at another school. Nothing is for certain until I see who is hired as Hawaii’s new coach.

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
My main thoughts is who can keep the interest level of UH football at a high enough level to draw fans either on television or in the stands. It's always going to be expensive to maintain a D-1 team in Hawaii based on its distance from the mainland so it requires both a salesman and someone who knows how to win football games.

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
I think Rich Miano will be the next head coach... however?
Can Hawaii keep Stutz or bring in Timmy Chang?
Can Hawaii pull Junes Jones from the XFL?
Has Dino Babers lost favor with the Syracuse alumni and fans due to lack of wins?
At the end of the day if none of these folks apply for the Hawaii Head Coach Job, then they cannot be hired.
Always remember when it comes to job vacancies, the person who gets the job is the best candidate that actually applied for the job at that time.

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
The only two names reported I've seen with "per sources" from either twitter or Reddit that i found perplexing was Jim Mora Jr and Pete Carroll's son both applying for the position.
I'm not one to frequent forums or go go looking for stuff, anyone here can confirm this? How credible is Bruce Feldman and Adam Shefter as sports journalists?

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
Feldmen is legit. I don't know if it's a typo but Adam Schefter is the ESPN NFL guy. So both legit journalist. I would stay away from both candidates. Mora has lawsuits filed against him by former players. Not the type of person Matlin tends to hire.Bleed_Green wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 3:38 pm The only two names reported I've seen with "per sources" from either twitter or Reddit that i found perplexing was Jim Mora Jr and Pete Carroll's son both applying for the position.

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
A 247 sports reporter said sources close to Carroll confirmed it. So it’s likely at least Carroll did. Not so sure about Mora.Bleed_Green wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 3:38 pm The only two names reported I've seen with "per sources" from either twitter or Reddit that i found perplexing was Jim Mora Jr and Pete Carroll's son both applying for the position.

Jim Mora Jr would be a disaster, IMO. I hope AD Matlin's not going in that direction. It'll be foolish.
No mattah how critical, I support our Warrior players.

Mora Jr would not be a good fit....for UH or Hawaii. A UCLA alum friend of mine who is from and still lives in SoCal told me that Mora Jr was too arrogant even for UCLA....even more so than Chip Kelly. Mora Jr is used to have all the luxuries of coaching in the NFL and the Pac-12 too. No way Matlin would hire Mora Jr.stranger_808 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 6:03 pmJim Mora Jr would be a disaster, IMO. Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
Brennan Carroll isn't any better than Jim Mora, Jr.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brennan_Carroll
I sure hope BigWave was joking about Art Briles 'cos if UH were to hire him he'd have UH on probation, like MAJOR probation, within 3 years!!!!

Arrogant? Well many people thought that of June Jones too. Not saying I would like Mora, but I’m not going to use “arrogance” to discount him.kapakahi wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 7:33 pmMora Jr would not be a good fit....for UH or Hawaii.
