Some of these names will take UH back to the Stone Age. They might as well play in the Quarry.

Let's not bring back "local boy coming home" kind of search. They are not local when most of their life is spent on the mainland.

I hope he's not the pick either.
No mattah how critical, I support our Warrior players.

I don’t thing we should judge by local, non-local, ex-local, haole ... connection, no-connection.cabanalane wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 9:34 am

This is all bullshit. Bottom line ... are they a great college football coach and can they deliver players on the field ... I don’t give a crap about anything else

Craig Stutzmann or bust!!!stranger_808 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:58 pm No to Anae, no ways. There's a reason why these guys don't get a crack at a HC job. Just like Chow never got a chance until stupid UH. If Matlin hires him, it'll be 4-5 years of pain. Chow all over again.

Whomever the new HC ends up being, just gotta hope that he retains most (if not all) of the assistant coaches who want to stay here....following a very successful season (with 10 Wins, a MWC West Division Championship, and a Hawaii Bowl victory)…..by not repeating what happened following the 2011 season......when Mack was let go for non-football reasons (following a 10-4 2010 season & a 6-7 2011 season)…..which was following up by 4 dismal seasons (2012 through 2015) under Chow (with a cumulative record of 11-29)….

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
Ed Lamb would be an excellent hire for UH. During his tenure at Southern Utah he turned around their program and most likely put more players in the NFL than UH did during that same period. He is a straight shooter who players loved to play for. He has great connections in the business as well.shoichikun808 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 2:49 pmAt least with Lamb he’s a former FCS coach that finished 45-47 in 8 seasons (final year in 2015) at Southern Utah.stranger_808 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 2:44 pm I hope we don't go in that direction with Anea or Lamb. The Hawaii job isn't On-The-Job-Training. I don't want to see rookie mistakes in travel, time zone, and recruiting issues. We need a hire that already knows our players, and system, the transition needs to be seamless, otherwise it's a complete rebuild and 5 steps back for our program. IMO
Rather not have either one of them though
Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
If Ed Lamb really is interested in the HC position, I too wouldn't mind if he UH gave him a look
Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
stutz is making home visits to WSU recruits and wearing WSU gear. Im guessing he would stay if offered the HC job but has to take the opportunity at WSU until he's actually offered (if at all) otherwise he'd be completely out of a job.

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
How does a new coach go on an official home visit and represent/promote a program to a potential new recruit (though not the case here since both of these guys have already signed with Wazzu)…..yet not be totally committed to the program (whose gear you are wearing and supposed to be representing - even with matching color shoes)?
What does the coach tell a potential new recruit and his family on the official home visit?
If the coach is not totally committed to represent/promote the program, then why would the coach agree with the Head Coach to go on the official home visit?
Hmmm.....

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
Is the RNS really a requirement for the next HC?

Re: Possible next head coaches for UH?
Though desirable....probably by the offensive players....doubtful that the RnS is a requirement.....but a pro-style offense with a TE and/or FB/H-back would probably be a no-go since there are no TEs and FBs/H-backs on the current roster.
