I don't quite get the disparity in reporting as MSN, 3 hours ago said that Jalen Hurts was fastest.ubercow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:07 pmBleed_Green wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 3:56 pm CM currently has the top 40 time of all QB's at the combine. 4.54

It's the combination score of their first and second times. Cole's composite score is the top score when they averaged the two 40 times.shrek2 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 5:26 pmI don't quite get the disparity in reporting as MSN, 3 hours ago said that Jalen Hurts was fastest.ubercow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:07 pmBleed_Green wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 3:56 pm CM currently has the top 40 time of all QB's at the combine. 4.54

I agree with your feeling on this. We all know he is not going to go in, and start. Probably going to ride the bench. If this mechanics and throws don't look excellent, teams may think they can coach that out, if the athletic skills are there.
You guys know more on this, have there been any/many R&S, Air Raid, etc QBs that make it to the NFL? I should add, that's starting or getting playing time?
P.S. Like how he still represent Hawaii, with the shakas, and pointing to the tat. I'm glad to see the Bradha got a haircut.

hurts: 4.64, 4.59
cole: 4.54, 4.60
or the official reported time:
QB Cole McDonald: 4.58
QB Jalen Hurts: 4.59
QB Justin Herbert: 4.68
QB Steven Montez: 4.68
QB Jordan Love: 4.74
QB Jacob Eason: 4.89
cole is faster. that's what you call poor blog reporting (from 12up.com) that msn reposted.

Re: Cole McDonald declares for NFL Draft
Cole looked smooth running the 40 - must be from his sub 11 second 100 track training. A lot of WR Combine participants were herky-jerky and straining when running the 40.
He had a very good showing as to the physical measurables and testing. Do they still administer the Wonderlic to QBs? I sense that he'd do well. Some have been critical of his performance on passing drills, so maybe he can do a passing workout for scouts at the pro day and also help Jojo and Cedric by throwing to them.

Commentator was saying that there might be as much as 5 quarterbacks in the first round.cabanalane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 5:56 amI agree with your feeling on this. As all these quarterbacks get traded and signed, it's hard to be optimistic about those QBs that are not the top 4. Mariota to the Raiders, Brady to Tampa Bay which kind of leaves open the possibility of trading Winston, then Cam Newton's name has been tossed around along with all these other second stringers who have already been signed.

Re: Cole McDonald declares for NFL Draft
Thanks, I was wondering whether Tampa would keep him as a backup. Dak Prescott is trying to sign for elite QB money but I think they put the franchise tag on him. I think there are three QBs that set themselves apart from everyone else and that's Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson. Lamar Jackson is probably year to year but a running QB never lasts long in the NFL.Irse wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 2:47 pmWinston is a free agent.shrek2 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 2:23 pm As all these quarterbacks get traded and signed, it's hard to be optimistic about those QBs that are not the top 4. Re: Cole McDonald declares for NFL Draft
I'll definitely be surprised if he goes higher than the 6th round. He didn't have a good Combine as far as passing drills, IMO I don't fault him too much since he's never passed to those receivers before. Ultimately it will come down to game tape, but I'll tell you one thing getting benched several times will definitely be a red flag. But getting back to his Combine, if he showed the ability to drive the ball down field and put more zip on his out routes that would've helped his stock. His passes falling short and inaccurate on several of his throws I think will cause his stock to dip. What also sucks is that his Pro Day is cancelled due to the pandemic , he couldn't even go in for a team visit if they asked him to.
So I'm gonna say late 6th round pick is where I think he goes.

Re: Cole McDonald declares for NFL Draft
Turns out despite some "experts" in the game who thought he needed another year in the collegiate level, he made the right decision based on the possibly shortened season or postponed season for NCAA football.
