Reed's chow time gesture

Post by cabanalane »

I have to ask, when Reed gets a big gain, he does that gesture like he is chowing down a bowl of fried rice.

What is that mean? And what is he really trying to do? I can't figure out how that gesture is relating to a big gain.

Closest I can guess is "Scoop" like a big gain?

It’s him saying “Feed me more, I’m hungry.” Like feed me the ball more I’m hungry to eat up more yards.

Some of the receivers do the same as well. You see it more in basketball than football.

I think Zeke Elliott started it.

It's a "feed me" the ball. Ezekiel Elliot made that gesture famous, I think.

Never say chow time around these parts ever again.

I guess interpretations differ. I've always thought Reed was gesturing "first down", after a decent run with his arm pumped and pointed in the direction of the opponent's endzone. To his team mates picking up on this the message is clear "let's keep marching."

Reed does 2 gestures that I’ve seen. The feed me more gesture and the first down one

Ziggy Raimo did the feed me more gesture last year. I don't remember seeing him do it this current season.

the original posts asking about the"feed me" gesture. No way to interpret that diferently, it means "feed me" the ball, more carries—it's pretty universal in football meaning.

I watched the GS Warriors last year when they were winnign (not this season) and a lot of the players did the feed me gesture. But I think that Irse is right in saying that it did start with Zeke.
