I worry that the team will be unmotivated for this game simply because of the emotional letdown of not winning the MWC championship and because of the 17 days between the two games. I hope I am wrong.

BYU lost its last game on 11/30 to San Diego St, 13-3.
That's 21 day between games.
Hope they are unmotivated and we are hungry.
If it's the other way around, it's going to be another ugly UH/BYU matchup

BYU's talent level is superior and if UH plays like they did against Boise the score will I'll loop sided. #FU_BYU

If Hawaii fans don't show up, BYU will definitely have the louder crowd and home field advantage
Re: *** Official HI Bowl Pregame Thread ***
Yup. Their fans have been prepping for this for a long time. With no conference championship available to BYU, their program heavily emphasizes these bowls now. Get your tickets and go to the game, cause the Cougars will be loud.BigWave96744 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 2:15 pm If Hawaii fans don't show up, BYU will definitely have the louder crowd and home field advantage
BYU is a hard team to figure out. Who shows up? The team that beat Tennessee, USC, and Boise? Or the team that lost to South Florida, Toledo, and San Diego State?

College football stars with probable NFL futures have bypassed playing in bowl games recently, but BYU coach says no Cougars have plans to skip the Christmas Eve game in the islands, and others who have been injured should return as well

I hope the Warrior football team watched the Army Navy game where there were no offsides or holding penalties in the first half. The total yards for both teams combined for Army and Navy was 33 yards in penalties.

While more infrequent than in the past, the Cougars are scheduled to host Hawaii in 2024, with a return trip planned for 2025 in Honolulu. And while it’s not on the “rivalry” level of Utah, Utah State or Boise State, there are still many proud Cougar fans who remember the days of BYU and UH as one of the more important games of the year.
It certainly has a history for BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, whose father, Mike, grew up in the islands until he was 17, when he came to the mainland to play football. The former Utah defensive lineman who has raised his family in Draper and will make the return trip to Oahu with his wife, Lisa, to watch his son play quarterback for the Cougars this Christmas

BYU is 7 and 5, but they can be real good at times. The highlights of their season are:
Beat Tennessee at Tennessee 29 - 26 in 2 OT.
Beat USC the next week 30 - 27 in OT.
Beat Boise St. 28 - 25
Beat Utah St. 42 - 14
That's probably why BYU is favored by 2.
Other common opponents:
Lost to Washington 19 - 45 (we lost 20 - 52)
Lost to San Diego St. 3 - 13 (we won 14 - 11)
Which BYU team will show up? Which Hawaii team will show up? Hopefully not the one that didn't show up in the 2018 Hawaii Bowl.

We better bring our A game or it may be a repeat of last year's Hawaii Bowl.uhwarriors wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 8:24 am BYU is 7 and 5, but they can be real good at times. The highlights of their season are:

I got the Warriors for the win in one of those “whoever has the ball last” type of ending.

Me and my crazy thoughts. What if...Rolo was trying to rest CMD by letting CC start a few? Can a QB still be effective at game 15? When you look at it, CMD actually only play like "12 games". That's 12 games of wear and tear.

I’m getting the feeling that Rolo will bust out throwback uniforms for the game. Im probably wrong though. What you guys think?
