The Jones story is funny!

But, Tuioti started half the games. Against NMSU, he threw for 355 yards and ran for 59 yards. In his high school highlights, he looks more like a runner than a passer.

But I really dislike the fact that the other teams of the MWC looks at Hawaii as a weak sister on the schedule and schedules their homecoming accordingly.

I read somewhere (here) that games are scheduled something like 8 years out. So this year's schedule was done during the Chow era, no doubt. So yeah...easy win for homecoming - or suppose to be.

Some of the schedule is worked out years in advance but it changes as in the case of Wisconsin. The homecoming game is not usually decided on until the full release of the schedule for the year. So, the homecoming games are decided when the final schedule comes out. Here is a synopsis of Homecoming by Wikipedia.
"When attached to a football game, homecoming traditionally occurs on the team's return from the longest road trip of the season. The game itself, whether it be football or another sport, will typically feature the home team playing a considerably weaker opponent. The game is supposed to be an "easy win" and thus weaker schools will sometimes play lower division schools. "

Yeah. UA-UH Home and Home game I'm sure was years in advance, when Dick Tomey was, not just alive, but healthy.

UA was dealing the the HC's sexual scandal, and UH drowning in the Chow era. The name Tomey = nothing but positives.

I wondered what was the "original" plan during these two games.

Interesting game with UNM and NMSU. NMSU used the passing game like UH does. The New Mexico receivers have length and look athletic. Tuioti is accurate and can throw on the run but it looks like he goes with his primary receiver. He also seems to tip off the run plays by looking at his wide receiver.

We started out as 11 point favorites and now we're 9 point favorites. I think we have one heck of a team here still. Somebody made a big deal about penalties in the last game but we only had 5...which was less than Air Force. In fact, only the Washington game had less penalties with only 3 given up. I think the personal foul calls on both Stovall and Hensley were pretty manini kine. A fair catch tossed to an on-rushing special teams guy and a last guy to push back penalty hardly gets my ire up. In my opinion, this is the most disciplined team, in terms of penalties, that we have ever had.

Clearly, we had some difficulty with the option. As a consequence, Air Force was able make some long ball magic happen.

Link
I think many of this year's team are just like the ones highlighted in this video.
Overlooked, underrated, and ready for the next challenge.
That 6 game losing streak ends here and now.

Is this the story of two quarterbacks growing up 20 miles from each other? One gets recruited by three schools including UH and the other by none until Hawaii offers him a scholarship. Glad we got McDonald! He's more than proven that he's a college quarterback.

I am expecting to see 2 teams with high octane offenses and puka defenses. I hope that we come out on top at the end.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

We should smoke this team, but then again if the New Mexico offense comes out with an option/formation that our DC hasn't seen before, oh boy! Batoon can't make adjustments to something he hasn't seen. That's terrible. All DC's should be able to make adjustments, some kind of adjustment to what they see their opponents doing. After that, it's up to the players to execute.
No mattah how critical, I support da coach, Rolo. I love what he doing wit Da WARRIORS.

Going to be streamed on Facebook if you're not in Hawaii.

Thanks uhwarriors. On the mainland but trying to find the exact location for the game in facebook. I think it's
https://www.facebook.com/hawaiirainboww ... 732173907/
for kamainas who miss Hawaii and malahinis who have an affinity to Hawaii.

i need to pick a bar/restaurant to watch the game at. Any recommendations? I live in Aiea and usually go to Blue Tropix, but only because Big City Diner is always too crowded and the chairs at Monterey Bay Canners are not that comfortable.
