*****OFFICIAL Air Force vs. Hawaii Game Thread*****
Air Force is a 3 point favorite.
They are 4 and 2 and are the nation's second leading team in rushing averaging 296 ypg.
Beat Colgate, 48-7
Beat Colorado at Colorado, 30-23.
Lost to Boise at Boise, 19-30
Beat San Jose, 41-24
Lost to Navy at Navy, 25-34
Beat Fresno, 43-24
While we won't be able to completely stop their running attack, we need to slow them down and get enough stops to win the game

Re: *****OFFICIAL Air Force vs. Hawaii Pre-Game Thread*****
This game is no doubt going to be won in the trenches. Hawaii has a lot of beef up in the offensive line but Air Force can be pretty stingy on defense only allowing 25 yards to Fresno in the second half. Hawaii has been better than last year in giving up the big run but I don't know if they have enough to slow down the Air Force running attack. Impressed by Khoury Bethley's solid tackling and Solomon Matautia's stops up the middle in the backfield but I guess I wouldn't mind seeing more of that from some of the other DBs and linebackers. Hopefully too, we'll get some push by Blessman Taala and Mason Vega.

Simple. Hawaii’s offense needs to start fast and build at least a two touchdown lead to get Air Force away from their running game strength.
Re: *****OFFICIAL Air Force vs. Hawaii Pre-Game Thread*****
I don't think Air Forces DBs will be able to handle our Receivers the way Boise and Washington did. We will be able to move the ball and score We have to stretch the field by going long. We cannot turn the ball over, period. We cannot afford drive killing drops.
On D we need to be disciplined and we need to cover Airforces WR one on one. They will pass. The DEs have to protect the edges and force AF to the LBs. The DLs will have to plug the gaps and the LBs will have to make tackles.
It will be interesting to see who are DEs are for this game.

The other key is to start fast. If we can get a two or three TD lead it will take AF out of it's game plan.Score the first three or four times we get the ball and AF will be in trouble.

Hawaii has moved up in the turnover leaders from 130 to 128. Would like to see a turnover free game in this one.

I wonder if anyone consider Azia Seei as a replacement for the Froot Truck.

Go Warriors, beat the Birdmen.

We have shown that we can score on anyone. We will score on Air Force. Ironic that we will attack them thru the air and that they will attack us on the ground. I am impressed on how hard they play. Especially their oline. I expect a very physical game. It will be good to have Pritchard back.
In todays paper they mentioned how many receivers we have that can play. 12? It should be no problem to sub if a player happens to be under performing. But I hope that I will be able to again say, “Just throw to Jojo”. Players I see deserving more playing time? Stovall and Victor.

Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

I like Victor at runningback. He’s a really good runner. He gives us a passer option. We can motion him from the backfield to become a receiver. He would be a big play option.shrek2 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 5:52 am I wonder if anyone consider Azia Seei as a replacement for the Froot Truck.

I like that idea based on his ability to carry three Wolfpacks into the end zone but I also like the motion play to Stovall for short yardage against Boise. I mentioned Se'ei because I think they're missing that big guy in the backfield. This is the kinda game I wish we had a punishing runner. Didn't know Se'ei played ball carrier in high school.RedZone wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 1:53 pmI like Victor at runningback. He’s a really good runner. He gives us a passer option. How is it that a 4-2 Texas can get absolutely schooled by Oklahoma, despite Cinderella referee calls, and yet remain in the top 25? How is it that Hawaii cannot make the same beat down of an in-conference Cinderella? Airforce...favorites?!!! Nah. I hope our team looks at the tape, digests and corrects the errors that were made.

Air Force looks like they have a couple of tough runners at fullback and a hard running halfback. Good to see that BSU beat them with the same things they beat Hawaii with, ie, the over the top throws and running up the middle. AFA vs BSU.
