Strong leg off the high school tee. Hope he can keep his length and accuracy without the tee. The JC guy in the second video kicking without a tee was impressive.

Another talented Big Island boy from Kona! Last one that played at UH is now with the Seattle Seahawks.
Re: Konawaena HS '19 PK/P Harry Hill commits
good pickup. in his highlight video, it appears he is able to kick it to the end zone and looks like he is capable of punting at least 45 yards in the air.

That's a huge score for us, isn't it? I hope the lad continues to develop and stays injury-free, as much as possible.

Re: Konawaena HS '19 PK/P Harry Hill commits
Rest of article:The next set of uprights Harry Hill takes aim at won’t be too far from home.
Hill, a Konawaena senior and one of the state’s best kickers, has locked up a deal to be an invited walk-on to the University of Hawaii, where he will have an opportunity to earn a scholarship.
“I’m really honored to get the chance,” Hill said shortly after inking his letter of intent on Thursday. “I appreciate all the support I’ve had from my coaches, parents and really everybody. It’s been great.”
Hill graduates as one of the best pure specialists the BIIF has seen, picking up both the placekicking and punting duties for the Wildcats. It was an anomaly— or intentional— if one of his kickoffs didn’t end up in the end zone, and his point after attempts were nearly automatic — something that can’t always be said at the high school level.
“Like I’ve said in the past, really good teams have really good special teams, most notably a good kicker,” Konawaena head coach Brad Uemoto said. “He was such a weapon for us. We were lucky to have him.”
It was Hill’s hope to end up at Hawaii, where he is thinking about pursuing agriculture.
“One of the coaches told me about their focus on keeping local players here, playing for Hawaii,” Hill said. “I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”

He's getting tons for coverage which is rare for a kicker. Hope he delivers as our kicking as been inconsistent.
Be humble and confident in yourself and all things you do.

So what happened? I know we should only be concern about guys that are here, I get that. But sometimes we hear so much about a guy. Then followed him. With great hope. Then they disappeared...
I understand if they got a better offer, etc. At this level, football has been their entire life. How do you "give that up, like that?"
Ok, so something changed, what? Grades? Do they need more tutoring? Money (cost of tuition)? I'm sure there's help or even a loan. I know college is "expensive" but SRS, it's not something that can't be overcome. We all did it as UH Alumni. We work and go to school, ride the bus, etc. The point is, how does one give up his dream? A chance his entire HS team can only dream about.
I wonder if UH Football have analytics on players that are off the team. Then again, the answer is probably no, as staff time are better spent with the guys that are on the team

All I know is that he was on the fall camp roster but is no longer on it. maybe it was more than he expected. There are two more that were on the roster but no longer, Kahale Huddleston and Adam Netane. I think all were walkons.cabanalane wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 4:01 pm So what happened?
