CB Cortez Davis signs LOI

Making the secondary a priority, the University of Hawaii football team secured a commitment from a speedy junior college cornerback.

Cortez Davis of Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Miss., told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he has accepted a football scholarship from the Rainbow Warriors.

Davis said he will put his commitment in writing on Dec. 18, the first day of the NCAA’s early-signing period for football. Davis, who will have two seasons of UH eligibility, will enroll in January, and participate in the Warriors’ offseason conditioning program and spring training.

Speed, recognition and aggressiveness. He looks good. He plays well against taller receivers and his speed and awareness puts him in position to make good tackles. You don't see arm tackles. His speed helpa him in all phases of the game; special teams, pass coverage and run support.
