OK, I admit I have not made any effort to look for the answer at this point. So I throw this out to a stats guru who knows where to look.

I remember BYU games being packed. Is this years game going to be empty?

December 8, 2001 - 50,000 (W 72-45)
December 3, 2011 - 34,446 (L 41-20)

All I could dig up.

Yes, it'll be empty. BYU apparently is really bad, and well, we're bad too.

I remember that Chad Owens (Rolovich) game well. We were 9-3 with no bowl game. There is an ESPN game video on YouTube.

I guess we can all agree that the BYU rivalry thing is dead.

The UH vs. BYU rivalry thing was only in the minds of UH fans. But that died when the MWC schools broke away from the WAC and left Hawaii behind. And that was a generation ago.

There is a big possibility BYU fans will be louder than Hawaii fans in a few weeks. They play UMASS this week and could come to Hawaii riding a 3 game winning streak.

Unless Hawaii can pull off a miracle in cold Logan, Hawaii will be on a 4 game losing streak.

Just looked at BYU schedule/record. Yep, looks like the tale of two seasons. Tough opponents and a whole bunch of consecutive losses. Then finishing on high note with a few decent mid-tier wins and sending their seniors off in the final game at Hawaii. Sad for our seniors in our house. I hope we figure something out.

Is BYU a trap game?

I am thinking we might be taking the game lightly considering BYU loss to UMASS and they only won three.

We have Navy up next at home. I am concerned this might be a trap game.

As with the Chow era, "We cannot take anyone lightly" :)

This reminds me of the 2014 UH UNLV.
2 horrible teams, with the game ending on the final play (Woolsey to Kemp) and then Bobby Hauck gets fired

But this time the loser doesn't get fired, but the leash is made shorter and the seat gets hotter

I think if we played UMASS today, we would have lost as well. UMASS has gotten better as the season progressed

We'd better treat this as our "championship game". That'll give us an edge. One thing that's happening right now is that BYU is lacking confidence.
