i dont know, weve already gotten a good amount of linebackers. i really hope our next verbal is from a OL.
college football=drama for men.

Re: 2009 UH FOOTBALL RECRUITING
The win over a then-ranked Fresno State team, on the road, should help with recruiting. It shows we are going to remain a solid program, and Mack and his staff have what it takes to be successful.
Re: 2009 UH FOOTBALL RECRUITING
How are the local recruits doing in HS games this season?
I see Kimo Makaula is Punahou's QB - is he a legit QB prospect or an athlete who will be moved elsewhere when he gets to UH?

Substance matters.

The article does say he is also playing LT. Decent height at 6-3 unless the 2 in rule applies. Hopefully has good feet and can bulk up and play T.letsgobows wrote:i dont know, weve already gotten a good amount of linebackers. i really hope our next verbal is from a OL.

Re: 2009 UH FOOTBALL RECRUITING
I hope the coaches are looking at Griffin Kuhn. He could help keep the new offense we are running and take it to the next level I think. He's a very fast QB with a rocket arm.

Re: 2009 UH FOOTBALL RECRUITING
We seem to be getting a lot of good linebackers which is good (you can never have too many in my opinion). Especially with all the injuries that can amount during a full season plus if they get bigger they make for good DE's. But I am wondering I know we have that big OT LaCount coming next spring but other than that who are some guys that we are going after as far as the OL. I know Mack mentioned that he is redshirting a lot of WR's so I am not too worried in that department. I think we are fairly set at QB especially with Neilson coming in (excited to see that kid develop). 5'11 but so is Chase Daniel right? But can you name some of the OL and DL that we are trying to get?

Updates on some other Kahuku alums currently at JCs with D1 eligibility remaining...kapakahi wrote:Looks as though John Manu-Olevao is now instead at Fresno City College (#72 on roster link). Also interesting to see another former Kahuku OL Joseph Napeahi (#66) on Fresno City College 2008 roster too.BigWave96744 wrote:According the Stephen Tsai, John Manu-Olevao (6'3'', 310lb OLine out of Kahuku '07) will be reporting in the Spring '09.
He is currently at West Oahu College and should have 3 years to play 3

Also interesting to see that other former Kahuku stars on Snow College 2008 roster....former Warrior signee OLB Tu Tui (#91) & 2008 Oregon State signee OL Anthony Si'ilata (#79).

Kahuku Class of 2008 OL Samiu Tonga on Mesa (Arizona) Community College roster (#60 on roster link).

Meanwhile, Kahuku Class of 2006 (and former Utah Ute signee) DT Joe Faifili (#97) has resurfaced at Eastern Arizona. With Warriors losing 3 top DTs (Josh Leonard, Keala Watson & Fale Laeli) next season, I'm hoping that Warriors take a look at big Joey (who looks to have 2 years of eligibility to play 2). JMHO but Warriors will probably need to bring in a JC DT to add some immediate quality depth since only Rocky Savaiigaea, Vaughn Meatoga & Tuika Tufaga returning next season with any D1 game experience.

Chris Leatigaga, DT, 6-4/305, RsJr., was highly touted JUCO (4 star) 2007 recruit, is he still on the roster or is he injured?kapakahi wrote:Updates on some other Kahuku alums currently at JCs with D1 eligibility remaining...kapakahi wrote:Looks as though John Manu-Olevao is now instead at Fresno City College (#72 on roster link). Sorry I've been out of the loop in the Te'o discussion but I heard that Pete Carroll came down last week for a visit. I found it hard to believe that he would have done so in between 2 big games. Some Punahou guys at work were talkin bout it.bowfan wrote:We can officially take off Manti from the list.

Geordon Hanohano will be the next big DT. He looks good as a true freshman. As he redshirts this year, he will develop in to a big time DT in my opinion. He is quick and strong for a 18 or 19 year old kid. Already during camp, he was a force to be reckoned with. Hopes he keeps on getting stronger while maintaining his quickness.

According to Tsai, both. His injury has limited his practice reps and he may be going for a med. hardship.seasider wrote: Chris Leatigaga, DT, 6-4/305, RsJr., was highly touted JUCO (4 star) 2007 recruit, is he still on the roster or is he injured?
