Regarding some of the others that haven't been discussed, off the top of my head: Brysen Ginlack redshirted last year. Waylon Lolotai went on his mission and should be back in 2008. Payton Mao went to an Arizona JC. Tomi Halai and Austin Jackson never showed up. KayBrin Stevenson showed up but couldn't get through the NCAA Clearinghouse process. Matt Kirshner, Lenny Boatner left after one year. Daniel Tautofi redshirted in 2005 and sat out 2006 for personal reasons. I'll leave the rest for others.

OW was a tremendous athlete out of Kahuku..
He played QB, WR, DB, Kickoff and Punt returner..
I know he chose UH over Oregon, Washington and Kentucky.

He was in the 2000 Recruiting Class with the following:

Two recruits from that class never came close to the hype: Mark Tate and Ken Witherspoon.

OL Ryan Santos also disappeared despite a ringing endorsement by ex-OL coach Cavanaugh ...

Coach Cav once said that Santos had all the size to be a starter but he was stiff and had bad foot work...

I remember him saying that he wish Ryan would take martial arts to improve his footwork.

Tate was a problem kid, huh? he had great measurables and a lot of potential, but he couldn't keep it together. i remember that he had an 80 yard kickoff return, though.

Would love to know the full details about Hali and Jackson. Seemed like damn good recruits.
