Xbox One X: What It Takes to Build a Console
By Mike Nelson, Xbox Wire Editor
October 5, 2017
Peanut butter and jelly. Shaq and Kobe. Master Chief and Cortana. If there’s anything we’ve learned during our short time on
this planet, it’s that collaboration is the driving force of creation (and tasty sandwiches).
We recently heard from Bryan Sparks, Senior Designer, Microsoft Device Design Team, and Leonardo Del Castillo, GM of
Xbox Devices Console Development to learn about their creative collaboration process behind the world’s most powerful gaming
console: Xbox One X.
To hear them tell it, the story is a fascinating one. In that, the engineering and design teams executed on the development of
Xbox One X with a clear and specific goal from the outset — deliver True 4K Gaming in a small form factor design — and
endeavored to work together to make that dream possible without compromising on their vision. And the end result is tremendous.
With 40% more power than any other console, experience immersive true 4K gaming. Blockbuster
titles look great, run smoothly, and load quickly even on a 1080p screen. Xbox One X also works
with all your Xbox One games and accessories as well as Xbox Live, the most advanced multiplayer
network, giving you more ways to play. In stores November 7th.
Just bought an Xbox One X or PlayStation 4 Pro? Looking for the best 4K HDR TVs? Join Rich
and Dave as they discuss the best displays they've tested for HDR gaming.
One screen we've not tested is the North America-only TCL P607, which is getting rave reviews
elsewhere. We'll try to source a screen and review it!
We're a couple of weeks into our Xbox One X experience now, so John and Rich decided
to put together a compilation video of our favourite HDR titles for the new console.
It's a native HDR video, so users with higher-end Roku devices, owners of Samsung 2016/17
screens or Chromecast Ultra streamers can view this video in full HDR. Alternatively,
smartphone owners with Galaxy S8, S8+, LG V30 and others can also view this video in HDR.

I am playing AC Origins with my XBOX One X ... and I am really flashed. It looks amazing (I got 4k TV) ... Really. The details are so realistic .. .they really made huge stories ... they really did a good job. I am so curious what will be in the future if this is the Beginning of 4k
