Oh yeah, I highly recommend playing the Dead Space series. When the first game came out in 2008, I didn’t give it much thought since it was just a single-player / third-person game with a main character that didn’t talk. I did pick up Dead Space during Steam’s end of year sale (2009 or 2010 – don’t remember which year) and was blown away by the game. The use of lighting in the game (or lack thereof) is impressive, but what really stands out to me is the sound design. The Dead Space games must be played with headphones to truly experience the game.

The curb-stomping (to use a Gears of War terminology) thing you do to fallen enemies is also very therapeutic. It’s a great stress-relieving feature. :-

While playing the first two games, I spent a lot of time walking around (or while floating around in space) just admiring my surroundings. There’s a lot of detail spent on the ship interiors / exteriors, planets, moons, etc. that you’ll miss if you don’t periodically stop to admire the view.

Of course, that’s not always practical when there’s a bunch of scary and lethal creatures trying to tear you apart limb from limb. Oh yeah, the numerous death animations are something else too. :firedevil:

Cool, glad to see you're having a great time playing the game. So, have you played the first two DS games? If you think DS3 is scary, wait til you play the other games. [-o< :-o 8|
