24. TCU

23. HAWAII: Janelle Gong, 5-9 OH, Campolindo (Moraga, California); Sophia Howling, 6-3 MB, Venice (California); Shaney Lipscomb, 6-2 MB, La Jolla Country Day (La Jolla, California); Arden Misraje, 6-2 OH, Crossroads (Santa Monica, California); Skyler Williams, 6-2 MB, Mayfair (Lakewood, California)

COMMENT: This is a time of transition for the Rainbow Wahine volleyball program. Head coach Dave Shoji has retired after 42 years on the bench and the team graduated two of its top three hitters. New coach Robyn Ah Mow-Santos inherits a squad that is very talented at the setter position and has depth in the back court. Hawaii needed to find help, especially in the middle, and feels it has done so with this class. Howling, No. 95 in PrepVolleyball.com’s Senior Aces, is the highest-rated recruit. A raw talent with great athleticism, Howling has the potential to develop into an ultra-physical middle with game-changing ability. Williams, another middle and Top 250 Senior Ace, is another outstanding athlete with a huge upside. Lipscomb, who also was a Top 250 Senior Ace, can play middle or outside. Her game has improved markedly over the past year. She has the high energy and aggressiveness that could put her on the court somewhere along the net early in her career. Misraje and Gong round out the class. Misraje has the potential to evolve into a terminator on either pin for Hawaii, while Gong, who has high-level club experience playing in NorCal, has all-around abilities.

Penn State used to be dominant. I wonder what happened that their recruiting class would be rated so low? Sounds about right for Hawaii. Big West got left behind in the dust.

These lists are so subjective. Hawaii gets one Senior Ace and they make the top 25. PSU gets like three and they end up being that far down on the list. smh

PSU got a good setter and a couple of good MBs. They also return everybody on their starting team next season. They almost beat NU in that regional; Nebraska being the national champions and #1 most of the season.

I can never figure this Prepvolleyball.com out. They seem to be all about business. Business of volleyball which makes them money.

What's up w Utah?!

Good job on the listings btw. #10 and #26 WTx? Niki being the only one.

2012: Spieler makes AVCA BVB AA 2x. Tai Manu ends up in/out of the National Team over her four years capping off a SR year w being named all-Regional (in the Elite Eight). Ginger Long is now live and makes a HUGE difference in the 2014 sub. versus Washington ... although she gets subbed out for an injured Kalei Greeley. Hah?

ASU sends Kastl (PAC12 noteable, AVCA HS mentionable) who ends up playing semi-pro for the PVL Arizona Sizzle.

PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces consists of 250 high school athletes (foreign recruits are not listed): With the input of college coaches, the Top-100 is ranked, and the Next-150 is listed alphabetically. Objectively (going by stats, physical attributes) quite a few of the Next-150 could’ve been listed in the Top-100, while subjectively (how coaches feel about a player’s potential growth, etc.) quite a few of the lower ranked Top-100 could also have been in the Next-150.

If the NCAA 2016 AA selectors had picked the team Objectively Nikki Nikki Taylor should have been a 1st Team NCAA All-American. PrepVolleyball and Volleyball Magazine picked Taylor 1st team because of her over-all stats; whereas, the NCAA selectors’ picked (in a few cases) their choices subjectively, i.e. players from BCS conferences, and players they were familiar with.

2009 Recruiting Class unranked: Kristiana Tuaniga Senior Ace Top-100, and walk-ons Emily Maeda, Paige Mitchell, Kristina Kam

2011 Recruiting Class: Jane Croson (#7), and Kalei Adolpho were both listed in the Senior Aces Top-100; Monica Stauber, and Jade Vorster, Ginger Long were all listed in the Next-150.

2012 Recruiting Class unranked: Tai Manu-Olevao and Ashley Kastl were both Senior Aces Next-150, Ali Longo transferred from Penn State, Katie Spieler (decided to focus on beach only-2014 and 2015 BVB AA).

2010 Recruiting Class Ranked #10: Kaela Goodman, Emily Hartong, Mita Uiato, Michelle Waber all were listed Senior Aces Top-100

2013 Recruiting Class Ranked #26: Tayler Higgins, Nikki Taylor were both Senior Aces, #19 and #26 respectively. Both were on the 2013 Volleyball Magazines Women’s FAB 50s. Tayler Higgins was Hawaii’s State Gatorade POY. Taylor did not play her senior year due to an injury; otherwise she probably would’ve been ranked somewhere between #10 and #20. Both were highly recruited by Division I programs.

Not. This listing is about right.

#2 Stanford plays Long Beach State to start off the season(s). The 49ers are rumored to have their best team in 15 years.
We'll see about 'em all.

Granato seems to be in w the defensive minded (Faith, Savanah, R AM-S). Should she improve in the backrow and remain fit, UH will do very well this next season.
