Re: G Justin Webster in the transfer portal
This is a big hit to the UH BB program. He was one of two guards that could drive to the basket and the only one that could hit the three consistently. Can't help but wonder if this is saying something about the lack of confidence in the coaching staff.
Re: G Justin Webster in the transfer portal
Team captain bailing. Who is next? Does make you wonder about coaching and failure to adapt to the players you have. Not a good sign.

Re: G Justin Webster in the transfer portal
not good having your most promising guys looking to transfer out after every season.
Re: G Justin Webster in the transfer portal
Certainly does not sound good for the program.

The 6-foot-3 guard out of Plano (Texas) has heard from Cal Baptist, Charlotte, Georgia State, James Madison, South Florida, and UC-Santa Barbara.
When talking about his deciding factors in picking a new university, Webster says, "I am looking for a school that best fits my game. I want the coaching staff to believe and trust in what I bring to a team. I want to be coached hard, developed into the best player I can be, and ultimately win championships."
Webster plans on making this recruiting process a quick one. "I am trying to get this over with. I plan on making a decision within the next couple of weeks."

Re: G Justin Webster, PF James Jean-Marie & G Kameron Ng in the transfer portal
I'm glad Justin came out and said it. I know I've been watching the games and yelling at the tv to close down the lanes and help out when the big man gets the ball down low only to see a guard drive down the lane to make an easy basket and a big take our big and make an easy one on one shot. I know I yelled loud enough "help out" long before the big made an easy basket that I'm sure my neighbors heard. Then when Webster was taken out and subbed for the two non-starters I asked why especially when he was hot. I thought Eran Ganot was hot when he came in but he already had the talent from the previous regime. Last few years its been less than lack luster. If it continues it will be too painful to watch. Also with the 2016 team, Roderick Bobbitt and a few other guys transferred to Castro Valley High years earlier to bring that school the only NCAL championship run so that's probably what happened in 2016 when UH won their first NCAA playoff. Coaching made no difference at Castro Valley or UH. Coaching can make a difference but I just don't see it.

So many transfers.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

It would be a different story if UCB, UCSB, Irvine and UCD all had people transfer out and I'd like to see come key players do that. But when UH has a mass exodus of key players its gotta tell you something. Something's messed up.
Re: G Justin Webster, PF James Jean-Marie, G Kameron Ng & SF Justin Hemsley in the transfer portal
Would like to see no one transferring but Jean-Marie and Ng are not two that I would consider a surprise. Webster the most concerning and Hemsley too bad but he was not a huge impact player. Good sub and had his moments. Still, I wonder if other shoes are set to drop. AD needs to be proactive to understand underlying problems. Buck stops there. As season ticket holder from Tony Maroney time, I am seriously mulling whether it is worth time and money to continue watching so-so product in a mid minor conference. Basic question: is UH basketball better now than when Ganot hired? Appreciate good students and citizens but that is not exclusive from winning games. Time for a long, hard look at overall program. What say you Me Maitlin?
