Hawaii Picks up the 1 Seed and will face the winner of USC/Lewis on May 2, 2pm HST. Long Beach State gets the 2 Seed and will face the winner of Pepperdine/ (Barton/Princeton)

Good to see them win the fifth set after seeing all the service errors in the third set. What a satisfying win.

Three 5-setters in a row with the Beach, and they rose to the occasion and got one. On to the National Championships!

#1 Hawaii and #2 Long Beach State split all the first and second place votes, 11-5. Pepperdine comes in #3 getting 15 third place votes and one fourth place vote. USC #4, Lewis #6, Princeton #T-13, Barton #T-16

I wish I had gone to the game, just to have been a part of it and to experience the electricity. What a game. But all it got the team was the automatic bid and the 1st seed. The real work begins now. Need to win two and probably beat Long Beach in the Pyramid for the first time in a long time.

Can someone e plain to me the seeding structure. Why would the beach possibly get to play a low seed in Barton or Princeton and get a team who may have played 2 5 game sets before even playing?

1 hawaii vs (4 USC / 5 Lewis)
2 long beach vs (3 pepperdine / (6 princeton / 7 barton)

using march madness for an example, if a 14 beats the 3, you play the 14. with the odd nuber of teams, would have been nice to add another at-large to even out the bracket tho.

Earlier brackets finished today: Lewis defeated USC 3-1 and will face Hawaii on Thursday at 2pm HST. Pepperdine defeated Princeton 3-2 and will face Long Beach State on Thursday at 4:30pm HST.

I actually wouldn't mind yet another LBSU/UH match up.
