Big win for the Warriors over Utah! Ate too much turkey yesterday and totally forgot about the game and missed it.
Watched the game against Seton Hall. Boy, were the Warriors cold shooting from the field or what? One thing for sure, Seton Hall is worlds better than the likes of Prairie View, Howard, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, North Dakota, etc., etc., etc. Fresneck State up next.
Hawaii is playing UCLA I think on Wednesday. The star of this years team looks like its Sherriff Drammeh since he will have his hands full with the guard play from Northridge and Fullerton. Best defense against strong guard play. Don't know why they just didn't play their 7 footers more in the Seton Hall game so that Purchase can play around the perimeter.
Oh yeah, they play Fresneck tomorrow to end the Wooden Invitational.
Hawaii can beat people if they don't study films. But if they put on a full court press and collapsing on Stepteau, however Stepteau looks like he is able to get inside and both challenge the big man and also bring the ball out. Saw UCLA play in the Vegas Invitational and they are one step up on Fresno. If Purchase continues to take the three pointers, there is no offensive rebounds. Hawaii needs more length and someone other than Raimo that can play back to the basket on offense and block shots. 3 7 footers and none of them start.
At this point I would say its a rebuilding year so start showing the 7 footers how to work with their back to the basket. There is no inside game. Even Hulland was 1 for 5 from 3-point line. Raimo should never take a charge because he will never get the charge like Purchase or Drammeh.
