@gopunahou: The only reason Kamehameha surprises people is that they're so inconsistent. You never seem to know which Kamehameha will show-up at a game. They'll stink-up a stadium one week, and play very well the next.
That was kind of the case with our teams between 1997 and 2001. There was one year where we couldn't even beat Pac-Five and another where Iolani swept us.
Punahou Football: 12-1, 2008 ILH and State Champions! 11-0, 2013 ILH and State Champions, a team for the ages!

Yea. I heard that Amina left Bishop Gorman. Can't confirm that he's at Mililani. if he is that would mean Muelu Iosefa, Sonny Semeatu, Micah Kim, Kamalu DeBlake, Wyndyn Hoohuli and Bam Amina would all be playing LB. Maybe someone can play safety or DL. I guess that would be a good problem to have. LOL

@gopunahou: The operative word in your post is, "was". You're talking about the Punahou of 18 yrs ago or more. Punahou hasn't seemed to be inconsistent over the past 5 years, at least. Kamehameha still IS inconsistent.

@Dog 96707: Good grief. Looks like Mililani High is "Linebacker High." Now, is Punahou still as good as Mililani, or is Mililani now slightly better? The only difference seems to be at QB, right? Does Mililani have any QBs that can match Punahou's? How about QBs coming-up from Mililani's JV? Anyone promising? What about vars returnees who were Gabriel's backups last year? Come on, Mililani. HELP me. Don't let me down.

For what it's worth, the Bishop Gorman football website still has Bam Amina on it's roster as of tonight.

Bishop Gorman players are pictured during the Las Vegas Sun's high school football media day at the Red Rock Resort on July 24, 2019. They include, from left, Bryan Certain, Micah Bowens and Rome Odunze.
Gorman returns two of the city’s top three players in four-star quarterback Micah Bowens, a Penn State commit who passed for 2,778 yards and 29 touchdowns last year, and heralded wide receiver Rome Odunze (60 catches for 1,347 yards and 15 scores). The defense is led by linebacker Bryan Certain (82 tackles), and there’s plenty of leadership from the likes of offensive lineman Hayden Engel and linebacker Lincoln Tuioti-Mariner, an Air Force commit. And the Gaels are built to last, with a who’s who of underclassmen set to debut this fall in Las Vegas’ most talented roster.

Weakness: Gorman’s secondary is almost exclusively underclassmen. However, the talent is off the charts, as all four starters have scholarship offers. Sophomore Zion Branch, who was offered by Auburn and others this summer, is one of many studs. Gorman’s offensive line is also breaking in a few new starters, who are tasked with replacing graduates now playing major college football.
