track and field

Post by unpaid »

I am looking forward to this season. Devin Jenkins ran a 10.66 100 meters last year.....how much will he shave off that time this year. Also, Shane Brostek was over 55 feet in the shot put and I think over 170 feet in the discus...can he get near over 60 in the shot and 200 in the discus?

Which athletes and records do you expect to marvel at this season?

Interesting first weekend in track. Results are slow coming but the ones already posted are WOW. Congrats to Devin Jenkins, awesome times in the 100m & 200m races. 10.5 in the 100m....I sense records falling this year for sure. Looking forward to seeing ILH and neighbor island results as well. Good luck to all the student athletes this track season.

I think Devin Jenkins can get down to 10.3 to 10.4's in the 100 meters...just hope it happens at a meet with fully automated timing.

Year of the bear?

State record holding girls pole vaulter kristine felix also sprints ... And jumps horizontally ... Teammate amber kozaki right behind her and will be her biggest challenger in the vault

Felix had an amazing 11-06 gpv/12.3 100m/18 ft long jump triple at the mil opener at war memorial yesterday

I realize that Devin Jenkins is probably looking at a collegiate future in track, but the Al Davis in me would like to see him returning kickoffs for UH.

Anybody know what's going on in the ILH? Any notable early season results? I checked MS-HI and there's only a season schedule.

@subfore, watch for Iolani's Aden Overcash(?) 800m you can see his results for the 800 first meet. Splits on a relay don't really get me, but if they do you, my daughter timed his split on the 4x400 relay at a mid 50. He is on fire! But I don't think Mike Chin will make it easy for him. Can't wait to see the results from tonight's meet at Kamehameha.

Was there bad weather on Oahu this past weekend? The distance race times seem relatively slow.

i guess you can say that. It was fairly hot at Iolani since it was a morning meet and I heard it was windy and rainy at some of the OIA meets.
