Bama QBs

Post by Cowboy2Warrior »

Hello Ohana! Long time reader, first time poster here. Can any of the Bama fans close to the program tell me the order and progress of the Bama QBs? I'm assuming JP Wilson is the starter, but where do the other two fit in to the mix and how have they all progressed since the Cotton Bowl?

i'll repost my Grade of our offense,

ALABAMA:

Top Ten Players for the 2006 Squad:

1. RB Ken Darby, Sr.
2. C Antoine Caldwell, Soph.
3. LB Juwan Simpson, Sr.
4. DT Jeremy Clark, Sr.
5. OT Kyle Tatum, Sr.
6. FB Le'Ron McClain, Sr.
7. WR D.J. Hall, Jr.
8. CB Ramzee Robinson, Sr.
9. WR Keith Brown, Jr.
10. DE Wallace Gilberry, Jr.
* WR/KR Ty Prothro would by 2nd if/when 100% healthy.

OFFENSE:
returning starters: 9

Quarterbacks:

Star Of The Pack: QB John Parker Wilson, Soph.

QB John Parker Wilson, Soph.

Passing:

7 for 11 for 98 yards for 2 TD's and 0 INT

Rushing:

3 attemtps for -6 yards and 1 TD

Shows great promise for a team that is trying to rise back as a national power in college football. He received playing time in the 2005 season against Auburn, so he has some SEC experience. He made a pretty good showing at Alabama's annual A-Day game hooking up with DJ Hall several times for Touchdowns, Due to his inexperience as a starter he's going to have to get a lower grade simply bc he has not proven his worth as a starter for Alabama.... 80 B-

QB Jimmy Barnes, FR.

Any few words, he's slow, a great passer, but shown an inability to make good decisions, might get playing time in a game in where we are up a considerable amount. 69 D+

QB Marc Guillon,
LOL, a joke, he holds the clip board and calls the plays and is regularly hurt like now! 15 F-

RB,QB Jimmy Johns, Soph.
Switched position to RB, but has shown to be used in a RB pass because he was Mr. Football in Mississippi as a QB.

QB Greg McElroy, Fr.
Possbily a redshirt, it'll be a big decision for Shula and the staff, bc of no really great backup for JPW, i think i'd roll the dice and Redshirt him, he is a great talent out of Texas, won the 5A division 1 title and his high school finished 3rd in the nation

Quarterbacks as a whole.. depth issues produces a low grade, if JPW goes down we could be in trouble 74 C-

Running Backs:

Star Of The Pack: RB Ken Darby, SR
Rushing Yards: 2,489 Yards for 11 TD's(should be noted that Castille is short yardage back and scores majority of TD's)

RB Ken Darby, SR.
The star of the whole offense itself. The offensive gameplan, more than not, will depend on him, a top notch premier back that has great speed, agility, and awareness of the field giving me no choice but a 99 A+

RB Glen Cofee, Soph.
Good backup for Darby, has seen quite a few snaps behind Darby 85 B

RB,QB Jimmy Johns, Soph.
switched to RB, but has served as a backup and have seen multiple snaps last season. Also shown in spring game to run the RB pass. 80 B-

RB Ali Sharieff RS Fr.
Yet another backup, a Redshirt Freshman so ungradable

RB Roy Upchurch RS Fr,
Yet another backup, a Redshirt Freshman so ungradable

RB Mike Ford, Fr
Due to come to university in the fall, a 5 star out of Florida, went to Junior College and is due back to the Capstone, no grade

FB Le'Ron McClain, SR.
Could arguably be the second best talent on the offense, a power blocker, he can throw mean blocks and as you can see in our Bama-Florida video from the 2005 season (ask if you haven't seen it) got hit hard by a Florida safety but the safety got leveled, due to his veteran ability he is another high grader at 95 A

FB Tim Castille, SR

A great player, we call him the Touchdown specialist, if we are inside the ten yard line he becomes the starting FB instead of Le'Ron. due to his ability in the red zone and due to the fact thats the only time he goes in 90 A-

Running Backs as a whole: Due to incredible depth, although we wouldnt be as high potent with Darby injured with all th detph its all deserving of a 93 A-

Offensive Line:

Star Of The Pack: OT Kyle Tatum, Sr & OT Andre Smith, FR

Alabama's Achilles's heel for the latter part of last season, but is being greatly improved by incoming Freshman. look to see a much improved line with better pass protection and will also open up the running game, with all of the improvements the grade must go up from last year... 85 B

Wide Receiver:

Star Of The Pack: *WR DJ Hall, Jr. *= Due to absence of Ty Prothro

WR DJ Hall, Jr
A wonderful player, the best WR we have now, made big plays against Florida, Tennessee, and LSU, he has an incredible ability to get open no matter what and catches alot that are thrown his way, he put up 3 or 4 TD in the Spring game, due to his threat grade goes to 92 A-

WR Keith Brown, Jr
With DJ Hall in zone or double covered, Keith iss the next guy you want to look at, in the Florida game, he showed us his great breakaway speed, although he has been known to drop a few, due to this his grade goes gown to 85 B

WR Matt Caddell, Jr
Same as Keith Brown but with less speed, also known to drop a few, 85 B

WR Will Oakley, SO
less experienced but a good backup nonetheless 80 B+

WR Nikita Stover, Xfer
5 Star from JUCO, shows some good promise at the capstone, i don't see any starts anytime soon, maybe next year 75 C

Wide Receivers as a whole: Great core of WR lead to an A rating 90 A

i have finished the offense, i will add more to it, plus the addition of the defense, and i'll get on hawaiis, stick around for more!

For a half second there, I though he might be a Wyoming fan as well. But, it's probably that he's a Dallas Cowboy fan or a Oklahoma State Cowboy fan or....

No Im not wyokie, and I absolutely despise the Dallas Cowboys (but I love Bill Parcells). Im also not a fan of the Wyoming or Okie State brand of Cowboys. As for what my name actually means, Id prefer to keep it hidden, if you dont mind. Either way, lets beat Bama, eh?
