Kai scores lone goal in win over Japan

Post by seasider »

With soccer being the most played sport in the World, Natsha Kai is helping to put UH Wahine soccer on the map--will that translate to better recruits for the UH soccer team?

Bottom line, Kai and Ching are bringing attention to the State of Hawaii. Because of their youth, and barring injuries, I'm sure they'll both be on the US National Team for quite a few more years. Add an Olympic or two, maybe the Hawaii Visitor's Bureau should make both of 'em tourism ambassadors from the State of Hawaii.

The following was cut and pasted from this evening Advertiser's breaking news:

Former University of Hawai'i soccer standout Natasha Kai scored the lone goal in the United States' 1-0 win over Japan today in the second game of a two-game tour of Japan.
Kai scored in the 65th minute on an assist from Kristine Lilly, who chipped the ball to Kai at the far post. Kai headed the ball in from four yards away. It was Kai's third career international goal in her fifth career match.

Kai entered the game in the 55th minute.

The USA returns home tomorrow and resumes its Residency Training Camp on Friday at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., according to ussoccer.com.
