i was trying to research the run and shoot, and came across this site from answers.com
http://www.answers.com/topic/offensive-philosophy
And I found this line to be very, very funny:
"Criticisms
This complex style requires smart wide receivers and quarterbacks who can call their own plays, an NFL rarity. "

Sucks! Colt isn't one of the top 25 QBs in the game
http://sports.ign.com/articles/710/710936p1.html
Not sure how Zabransky got in and Colt didn't.

Yeah, the Nevada QB is a 91 overall.
The last 6 QBs had a 88. i'm hoping that CB has an 88 as well, just not included in the top 25.
I wrote an email to the author of that article to see if they're planning to write a similar article, and asked if they could do receivers first. Would be interesting to see if RGM or Bess make the list.
Can't wait to get this game on my 360!

thats a bunch of cr@p. i think the major conferences have again got their influence somehow into the game or at least into the game producers. that or they have a weird way of rating qbs. maybe winning pct has some play in this. i don't know.
colt was head over heels over the majority of these qb's in this listing. the nevada QB at #8??? and Zabransky at #25?
For those of you that don't want to have to click "next page" for 25 times, here's the listing. and in the 2nd set of parentheses, is the qb rating (from espn.com) for them last year and their ranking in it. For reference, Colt Brennan's QB rating was #9 with a 155.49 score.
1. Notre Dame #10 (Brady Quinn) (#7 158.40)
2. Ohio State #10 (Troy Smith) (#4 162.66)
3. Michigan State #5 (Drew Stanton) (#10 153.41)
4. Florida #12 (Chris Leak) (#37 136.54)
5. Iowa #5 (Drew Tate) (#21 146.35)
6. Louisville #12 (Brian Brohm) (#2 166.73)
7. Arizona State #9 (Sam Keller) (#23 145.78 )
8. Nevada #3 (Jeff Rowe) (#32 137.79)
9. West Virginia #5 (Pat White) (NOT EVEN LISTED (*played 12 games) but had a 132.40)
10. Pittsburgh #3 (Tyler Palko) (#60, thats right 60 126.70)
11. LSU #4 (JaMarcus Russell) (#36 136.56)
12. Houston #4 (Kevin Kolb) (#42 133.42)
13. Arizona State #12 (Rudy Carpenter) (#1 175.01)- the backup QB is listed????
14. BYU #12 (John Beck) (#34 137.55)
15. Iowa State #7 (Bret Meyer) (#31 138.94)
16. Utah #3 (Brian Johnson) (#12 151.01)
17. Stanford #5 (Trent Edwards) (#30 139.01)
18. UTEP #5 (Jordan Palmer) (#27 140.54)
19. Arizona #7 (Willie Tuitama) (NOT LISTED (*played in only 5 games) 136.99)
20. Georgia Tech #1 (Reggie Ball) (#108, NUMBER 108!!!!!!!!! WTH! 99.25, maybe this is gonna be his breakout heisman year)
21. Michigan #7 (Chad Henne) (#52 129.61)
22. Auburn #12 (Brandon Cox) (#46 132.59)
23. LSU #15 (Matt Flynn) (NOT LISTED, backup, 5 games 2005 180.89)
24. Akron #16 (Luke Getsy) (#77 118.12)
25. Boise State #5 (Jared Zabransky) (#51 130.00)
looking at the different areas in the game that can be rated:
Overall, Speed, Strength, Awareness, Agility, Acceleration, Catch, Carry, Jump, Break Tackle, Tackle, Throwing Power, Throwing Accuracy, Pass, Block, Run Block, Kick Power, Kick Accuracy, Stamina, Injury
ok, their rating system has to be screwed up. no doubt about it. how do you judge someone's awareness? Injury??? and how do they do it for every school out there? i think our Hawaii tapes must've been lost in the mess of game tapes on the development floor or they didn't watch our games as well as those that ended up in the top 25.
oh well, like they say, lace it up and let the end results speak. we'll see how the real players play in the real game on the real field.

FYI, Colt Brennan has a rating of 86 in the NCAA football game. I think he is one impact player and then Davone Bess and Leonard Peters.

nice find, heres the cut and paste from it..
QB Snub
Thank you for writing the top 25 QB article. Finding how your favorite teams are rated is one of the more highly anticipated reasons for getting the game year in and year out. Being that we can't get the game itself any sooner, it's awesome to get some of the player ratings!
I was surprised to see how Colt Brennan from Hawai'i was not in the top 25 being that he lead the nation in passing last year and will most likely repeat again this year.
Are there more plans for this type of article? Can you do receivers next?
Great job!

p.s. any possibility of leaking any of the University of Hawai'i player ratings? Thanks!

ok, had some time, so i put all the player's EA stats side by side to compare. (sarcastically) i guess we don't have one of the top 25 qbs afterall. maybe we're all the stupid ones and stats do lie. maybe EA and all those other sports writers know something we don't about all these guys. or maybe we need to flood ea with emails and tapes. or maybe we just need to win this year for someone to recognize us.
