Yeah, he shot 35 shots, but he hit 20. That's AMAZING. If you watched the game, he tried to use his teammates, but they were playing HORRIBLY! Most of those shots came in the 4th/OT. Walton, who I love, was playing like a SPAZ, and Brown outside of grabbing lucky boards was a non-factor. Kobe did what he had to do, and if it weren't for Shaq and the whole Colorado thing, people wouldn't feel the same way. His average of shots taken, made, assists, and turnovers are VERY similar to MJ. Nobody complained when Jordan did these things. Remember he didn't always lead his teams to playoff victories. Mark my words, Kobe will win a title in LA before Shaq does in Miami.

My love for Kobe goes way back, it is a debatable to say that his team played horribly so he tried to take over the game. I think this problem stems from the fact that Kobe takes all the shots (as he’s done all year long) because he thinks that his teammates can’t get the job done. Others like King James who has a lot less talent around him also takes a lot of shots (#2 in FGA, behind Kobe) but he utilizes his teammates and finds ways to get them the ball. If you look at the numbers he takes a lot of shots just like Kobe but the perception is that Kobe is a ball hog and James is a team player.
Jordan elevated his teamates and made them feel like they were sombody. He found ways to get his teamates the ball and when they got it, they did something with it. Look at how all of them did when they left the team or when Jordan left. Kobe might have similar statistics but does not have the same effect on a team. This is the big difference in my mind. Basketball is still a team game and until Kobe realizes this he will not take his team to the finals.
Also MJ was a winner, I might be putting my foot in my mouth here but I think Kobe only won with the combination of Shaq and Phil Jackson. Without those two he didn't do much of anything as far as winning championshiops.
Just my 2 cents, I know it must be obvious that I'm anti Kobe and if his mom, or friends or relatives read this board I would like to apologize in advance. hehe

You are definitely putting your foot where your mouth is. First of all MJ is the BEST player ever. With that said, MJ also wasn't able to win any championship without Scottie or Phil. MJ wasn't able to win when he was at Washington. Keep in mind that it has only been 2 yrs since the dismantle of the Laker championship team. I'm not a betting man, but, I like the Lakers odds of winning another ring before Kobe retires. Quote me if i'm wrong but, MJ was 27-28 yrs old before he ever won an NBA ring. Kobe is about 27-28 yrs old and he already has 3 rings.
I understand your hatred for Kobe. I too would hate Kobe if he wasn't a Laker, but he is part of the team, so, I need to support him.
Peace

"MJ is the BEST player ever!" I totally agree but there is a big difference between Scottie P and Shaq O. Scottie was a great role player and a defensive specialist. Shaq at the time was considered to be the most dominating center in the NBA.You are definitely putting your foot where your mouth is. First of all MJ is the BEST player ever. From MJ's first year with the bulls he enabled them to make the playoffs which was big for the franchise. They made the playoffs almost every year but getting knocked off by legendary NBA teams like the “Bad Boys†in Detroit and Larry Legend in Boston. The knock on Kobe was that he didn’t elevate the players on his team and didn’t find a way to give them an opportunity to contribute. When MJ finally started his championship run he had the likes of Bill Cartwright, Scottie Pippen, Stacey King, and BJ Armstrong. No one near the caliber of Shaq, Derek Fisher, Rick Fox and Robert Horry.
It’s great that you support your team 100%, that is how every true fan should support their team. Like my previous posts, this is just my 2 cents on the topic.

Me too, I love the way Steve Nash plays the game. Lucky that I don't like to gloat.Irse wrote:Well Scott, you got your wish. The Suns killed the Lakers. Hope they can go far. I would like to see them in the finals.
