Former Warrior a Georgetown Coach

Post by BigWave96744 »

Kevin Gilbride, a 2003 graduate of the University of Hawaii, joins the Hoyas as the team's tight ends coach. Gilbride, who will also oversee kickoff coverage and film exchange, comes to the Hilltop from Syracuse University, where he was an offensive graduate assistant and the assistant tight ends coach.

Coming out of Bishop Kenny High, Gilbride was rated the 13th best quarterback nationwide by Blue Chip Illustrated. He was also named to the Super 75 in the South and was selected to the Jacksonville Times-Union Super 24.

Gilbride was originally recruited by Michigan State, Baylor, Kansas, Houston, San Diego State, Alabama-Birmingham and Memphis before signing with BYU.

This year, he talked with Lou Holtz at South Carolina and also considered Pittsburgh. His father is currently the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
