University of Hawaii Athletic Director Herman Frazier was picked by ESPN Classic as one of the 100 most influential student-athletes in the history of the NCAA.

The top-100 list was the subject of an ESPN Classic television show last night.

The list is made up of those who have made a significant impact or major contributions to society.

Frazier earned a gold medal while running the leadoff leg of the 4-x-400-meter relay team and captured a bronze medal in the 400-meter dash at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

At ASU where he worked for 23 years from 1977-2000, Frazier held the positions of assistant director of events and facilities, director of athletic facilities, assistant director of operations, associate director of athletics, and senior associate athletic director for business and operations.

Frazier went on to the University of Alabama-Birmingham and was its athletic director from 2000-02. He has been athletic director at UH since 2002.
