Crap, didn't know you guys moved the thread here :P.

Anyway...I had Syracuse catching some fire...apparently not though. Can't blame them after what they did in their tourney against Uconn and the likes.

Go UW!!! (Only team I have left to support)

Hoooo forgot we beat them in the Rainbow Classic for 3rd place.

We lost to Wisc-Mil and naturally they won their first round game...

Wow either Wichita St. or George Mason will be in the Elite 8! With all of these upsets, I would't be suprised if Bradley got in too! Usually only 2 or 3 of the 4 #1 seeds make it into the final four.

I'm near the bottom! So,...

Prior to this year, I ALWAYS have had at least 1 near perfect bracket, 2 decent brackets, and 1 horrible bracket. Now,...

That's ok, Wyokie,
I'm sure you can tell us off the top of your head, the year Wyoming did the best in the NCAA tournament. :-

In recent years the best WAC team (now MWC) was Utah's Final Four with Keith Van Horn.

1987, UW went to the Sweet Sixteen as a #12 seed. We beat 5th seeded Virginia, 64-60, then 4th seeded UCLA, 78-68 in Salt Lake City before losing to #1 seeded UNLV in Seattle 92-78.

Incidently, according to my 1997-98 WAC media guide, that 1987 team is the lowest seeded WAC team to ever go as far as the Sweet Sixteen!

Also, UW won the National Championship in 1943 (Big Whooppee  ). We beat Oklahoma, Texas, then Georgetown. Afterwards, we beat St. John's, the NIT Champions, in a charity event to help fund WWII. At the time, the NIT was in higher regards than the NCAA Tournament. Go figure!

Oh Dear GOD! A New York City team losing to Wyomingites! That musta been a fluke. Sorry, no disrespect, but New York is basketball's Meca, and to lose to a team in Wyoming....ugh! It pains me now, to see how far down NYC basketball has fallen (outside of highschool and playgroung ball).

This bracket thing is wierd. I have 3 of my final four teams out, and I'm in the middle of the pack. Wonder what the future folds...C'mon Duke, win it all!

The game was played on April 1, 1943 with the Pokes winning 52-47 in overtime. I think the game was played in New York City since the entire 8 team NCAA Tournament was played at Madison Square Garden. As I said before the St. John's game was a charity event so...I wouldn't go to pieces over it, BK.

Incidently Wyoming finished that year at 31-2. The two losses were at Duquesne and at Denver Legion (no clue as who they were).

Our coach then was Everett Shelton who coached in Laramie for 20 years (actually 19 since there was no team in '43-'44). The national title was in his 4th season at UW.

A little trivia: Kenny Sailors who played on our national championship team was the inventor of the jump shot. I think someone on GOWYOGO said he was native of Wyoming but don't hold me to it.
