The game was delayed for several minutes late in the second half when a Southern Illinois cheerleader crashed to the floor during a routine. Kristi Yamaoka was carted off on a stretcher wearing a pair of braces, but waved to the crowd.
Damn the girl is awesome...
As she laid on the stroller, the band started playing their fight song, then she lifted both hands and started doing the cheer to the fight song... Talk about bring a tear to your eye
I was pissed with morning pizza whot made fun of her this morning. This girl had a horrific fall and still was cheering for her team which shows her pride as well as her thoughtfulness to let the people concerned for her know that she was all right.
I was VERY pissed off when they were making fun. I was horrified to see that, and yet, she had a positive mentality towards the whole thing. Seriously, what's funny about a cheerleader falling like that.....especially....an asian cheerleader
I didn't catch the show, but I did see the fall. If they did do that, then I would've been PO'ed too! On another note though, shouldn't she be trying to remain as still as possible to avoid further injury? I mean I can understand a hand wave or something similar to that, but doing all those cheer movements, couldn't that be risky to her spinal cord if she does have an injury?
Purhaps she was ok, but was taken out on a stretcher as a precaution. I remember (this is embarrising) my first boxing match (I was a teen). Yes, we had head gear but I got hit so damn hard, I went though the ropes and landed on my head. I was ok, but they secured my neck anyway. I went on to do well, but that KO (the only one I had) was very embarrising

I KNEW you were going to mention she was Asian! I just knew it!
I just saw the video clip on ESPN. She has a broken neck vertebrae and a concussion. Out 6 weeks. Unbelieveable that she would be moving around like that with the injuries she had.

Exactly, once injured like that, she shouldn't be doing anything more than a thumbs up in my book.
