BlueCats Add Four to Defense
03/03/06 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF) Evansville BlueCats
EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce that four more players have signed up to play for the 2006 indoor football season. This impressive group of players will join the team just in time for the start of training camp as the team prepares for the 2006 season. Two players join the BlueCats from UC-Davis, one from the University of Hawaii, and one from San Jose State.

Defensive back Carnell Green attended the University of California - Davis, where he started at cornerback for three seasons. As a senior in 2002, he earned all-west region division 2 second team honors and made the All-ICA second team. His team at UC-Davis reached the NCAA Division 2 national semi-finals in 2000 and 2001, and reached the quarterfinals in 2002. Green redshirted during the 1999 season after transferring from Abilene Christian where he was an all-conference honorable mention cornerback as a true freshman.

He attended Arlington Sam Houston High School in Texas where he played football and ran track. He was all-district and all-area on the football team, and was able to display his speed as member of the district champion 400 and 1600-meter relay teams.

During a NFL pro day on June 5th, 2002 at Azusa Pacific, Green was timed at 4.37 and 4.36 in the 40-yard dash. He also benched 225 lbs. 23 times and recorded a 42" vertical jump.

Also joining the BlueCats from UC-Davis is strong safety Daniel Reece. As a senior in 2004, Davis earned started each game and earned first team all-conference honors at safety. He was also named special teams player of the year in 2002.

In high school he played linebacker at Paso Robles High School in California. He was named to the All-7 Districts first team and linebacker of the year as a senior. He was named Co-Defensive MVP in his conference as a senior and was also named as an all-league linebacker as a junior. His team at Paso Robles won their division and went to their section finals in back-to-back seasons.

Patrick Jenkins played defensive back at the University of Hawaii from 2001-2004. He was a member of the Hawaii teams that won back-to-back Hawaii Bowls in 2003 and 2004. Jenkins was born in Philadelphia before moving to Orlando where he attended Dr. Phillips High School. In high school he played several positions on defense, including defensive end, linebacker, and defensive back.
Cornerback Jerrell Hardy transferred to San Jose State after playing two years at Laney Junior College. He played cornerback his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons in college after playing free safety as a freshman. Originally from Oakland, California, he attended Skyline High School where he earned all-conference honors and his team won the OAL conference in his junior and senior seasons.

How many more football leagues are there? NFL, CFL, NFLEurope, AFL, AFL2, and now UIF?..

Jenkins was a walk-on safety who played mostly on special teams.

Vaguely, but yes I dod remember him. He was listed as a Florida guy, and I was pumped about that.
