Re: Redshirt frosh QB Zach Daniel in the transfer portal
I have never been a fan of getting two FR QBs in the same class. Almost always one transfers.
Re: Redshirt frosh QB Zach Daniel in the transfer portal
I think Zach's reasons for transferring are other than competition from another red-shirt freshman quarterback. Although, number-wise and stat-wise, Boone does look more promising. He's taller and has had more playing time as a starter in H.S. Still, being only one of two freshman quarterbacks I'd say his motivation has got to be elsewhere. Homesick? Quarantine has got him going gazingo? Dunno.
I think we're still pretty thin at quarterback. The new guy looks slight and has very little playing time as a starter. His final game was a blow-out loss where he only threw 46% completions. We've got two aging local back-ups with little hope of competing for a start. Is Chevan our guy? Will he stay healthy and un-flustered? If you truly have talent as a red-shirt freshman, now is the time to be a back-up. You get chance to play.
Good luck, Zach.

He was definitely behind Abbott on the depth chart. That makes two years in a row, one of the two QBs in a class has left.

QB is probably the highest transfer position in college football. If they don't see starting they transfer.

Maybe that was the plan, get two knowing one will transfer. That's better than getting one, and then he transfer and create a gap in the bullpen.

Might be a good fit for him. Looking at their roster, they have 5 QBs, 2 will be leaving after the season. Assuming he has to sit out a year, for 2021, they will have a RS JR, RS FR and Daniel would be a RS SO.BigWave96744 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 8:33 pm Wonder if he will try to LatechFather, Jarrod, played baseball and grandfather, Bill, played basketball at Louisiana Tech.

Took him a while to find a spot. I hope things work out for him.

You need to sign one or two every class and you can't count on just one QB making the grade. You need to sign two and one rises to the top.cabanalane wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 5:32 am Maybe that was the plan, get two knowing one will transfer.
